It’s truly awful that some innocents are being slaughtered. But frankly I have no sympathy with any terrorists. They deserve to die for what they do, the sooner the better.

For a second day in a row, Lebanon was rocked by a large series of explosions as Israel detonated small bombs hidden in another set of retro communications devices used by Hezbollah – this time, the attacks targeted handheld radios, killing at least 20 and injuring 450 others.

Tuesday’s mass bombing, which targeted pagers, has now claimed the lives of 12 people (including two children) and injured almost 3,000. According to new reporting by Axios (citing three U.S. officials), Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency pulled the trigger on its pager plot in fear that the bombs were on the verge of being discovered by Hezbollah. The walkie-talkie plot leveraged larger explosives than the pager bombings. Some explosions were big enough to cause fires, lighting blazes in 71 homes and setting 18 cars and motorcycles aflame. In less-explosive news, the U.N. General Assembly voted in favor of a nonbinding resolution yesterday that demands Israel end its “unlawful presence” in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. The measure passed 124-14, with 43 countries abstaining. The U.S., was one of the 14.

Who is siding with terrorists? I've repeatedly said that it is possible to condemn all acts of terrorism by Hezbollah and Hamas, while still expressing sympathy for the innocent victims who have been caught up in these latest attacks.

Their excuses for slaughtering the good and the innocent are wearing very thin indeed. I feel sorry for the many Israelis and Jews who abhore Netanyahu and his despicable government.

This sums up the situation as I see it continuing.

They WILL fight to preserve the State of Israel they have a large enough army to control terrorists, the US and others will provide enough weapons do that.

The risk is Iran getting directly involved, this is what Hamas wants, if that happens nuclear weapons will be used, then deaths will be counted in millions. They are already a pariah state so nothing to loose. However the US will do whatever it takes to prevent that happening, let’s hope that are successful.

Hamas can give up now and stop the killing, but to them every death is a martyr

I think some in the media seem to be describing this as terrorism. Terrorism deliberately targets innocent people.

The targets of this operation were clearly Hezbollah operatives.
If Israel had used traditional warfare methods to reach the same number of Hezbollah operatives, the number of civilian casualties would have been exponentially higher.

This is close to being the textbook definition of a precision strike.

You are forgetting about their opponents who cam in the night last October and murdered, raped and kidnapped young people enjoying a music festival and men, women and children asleep in their beds.

There is a complex sharing of atrocities or even, even stevening of atrocities between these two warring groups.

God has nothing to do with it. Both Christians and jews look to the old testament and that makes it clear that once Adam and Eve ate of the apple they were sent out of heaven and given free will to make their own way in the world. Posession of free will means that they are left to themselves and God does not interfere.

However it always helps winning sides when they can claim that God is on their side.

Exactly. How anyone can call any of this clever and applaud the Israeli Government is beyond me. I found it harrowing listening to the surgeon who said he had never in his 25 years had to remove so many eyes. Anthony Blinken is back and forth to the Middle East with his diplomacy, he may as well spit in the wind.

I despise Israel almost as much as I despise Hamas, it’s Hamas that started this war with the aim of destroying Israel, in that situation Israel is going to fight, - to the last Palestinian, if needed.
