Am I alone in finding this so tawdry?

A bad mistake and badly handled but it's a distraction from the real issues facing the UK.

Andrew Neale has just written a long article entitled “ I have never known a Govt that has slurped down the drain so quickly.” Worth a read. Daily Mail.

I expected a lot of this man and his government - I now feel disappointed, to put it mildly.

Do you all rmember the carry on about Angela Raynors suit a few weeks ago, well it turned out that it was given to her by a store. If that suit is the type of clothes the store sells then I will definitely be avoiding it.

Do remember that he only mentioned not taking clothes, or donations for clothes. There are other things, that are far less visible that he has made no such claim not to accept.

But the headline doesn’t say what donations he is prepared to accept? It’s implied that there will be donations still available…..

They've only announced that because of all the bad publicity that's surrounding his freebies. They would have carried on grabbing and taking if it hadn't come to light. Wouldn't surprise me now if new policies are put in place to enable them to get back on the gravy train.

Especially when he has spoken out several times about lack of clarity, transparency etc of other people in his “big, tough” voice!

Mind you he also said Labour would look after pensioners and the first thing he did was stop the WFA.

He says one thing but does the other.

^ it is really hard to imagine why the Prime Minister found it necessary to allow a situation like this to arise^

Love of money I presume.

'PM will no longer accept donations to buy clothes'. Did anyone ever imagine reading a sub headline of this sort on the BBC News webpage? As a senior barrister, head of the CPS, and then an MP, it is really hard to imagine why the Prime Minister found it necessary to allow a situation like this to arise.
