Stephen Yaxley Lennon aka Tommy Robinson, Geert Wilders, Nigel Farage, Tice, Suella Braverman, and Trump, all play to differing degrees to people’s fears and prejudices, making far right wing populist scaremongering that was once the territory of gangs of skin heads meeting in sleazy pubs far more mainstream and socially acceptable in certain circles.

He admitted to the offences (ie a guilty plea) so it wasn't a matter of giving a defence.
His KC testified as to his character etc in the matter of setting the sentence.

I think groups like the ones Robinson now associates with/runs have learnt a lot from the US - quite targeted and sophisticated planning and broadly based in social media connections not mainstream politics.

The leaders, as described above, have clever ways of incitement to hatred which mean they can often just stay clear of the law, but those they incite to hatred and violence dont.

However am cheered by, for example, those who turned up "the morning after" in Southport, from different cultural backgrounds, to repair the streets including around the mosque. (Picture)

Tere are a lot of very dangerous men out there, especially on the internet, (AKA) Robinson and those like Tate.... We aren't the demographic that follows them online so are happily unaware of them and the ideas they promote until one of them is splattered across the news and hear more about their horrendous mysogny, hate and so on. Good he's answering for his vile behaviour. Sad it's a shorter sentence than some honest and well intentioned climate change protesters got for trying to save the planet.

TR was due in court but left the UK the night before the hearing and turned up in Cyprus on holiday! He owes £100k in libel fees!! This latest court hearing and subsequent sentence had definitely been orchestrated for full effect!

When people were jailed for encouraging the rioters, people here were saying it was just ",hurty words".

Even the mps wife who suggested burning down buildings with muslims inside them.
