Dr Paul Stephenson has died aged aged 87.
Paul Stephenson was a social worker and became a civil rights campaigner who organised the boycott of the Bristol Omnibus Company in 1963, campaigning successfully against their colour bar. The company would not employ Black or Asian drivers or conductors.
He carried on campaigning for equal rights and his actions led to the first Race Relations Act in 1965.
He was a remarkable man.
Farewell Paul Stephenson. RIP.
