But then why is Starmer’s personal rating so very low? Is the bad outweighing the good?

Free breakfast clubs, dealing quickly with people inciting hatred online, manned abuse lines, pay rise for doctors and nurses, and hopefully closing gaps so that the better off pay their dues, as well as everyone else.

I really hoped for a better standard of governance from Labour, they had 14 years in opposition to get their act together.

Those of us who are right of centre have had to put up with thread after thread of name calling and insults towards the Conservative government and on a fair few occasions towards those of us who owned up to voting for them.

Why should this Labour government be exempt from criticism?

When people make provocative threads just for the sake of it that is exactly what they are doing GrannyGravy13. I’m more than happy to participate in intelligent political debate, when people have points of disagreement about policy, but not on this sort of thread.

Well yes GG13 I understand that. The Tories were pretty awful, wasting Boris’ 80 seat majority. Labour have an even bigger majority so most of the ‘Change’ they plan for us all will become law.

I worry it’s not going as well as hoped. The wheel’s coming off the bus and it’s zigzagging in all directions. Starmer is definitely not very popular right now.

I didn’t vote Labour and I know we’re stuck with them so I did hope their years in Opposition had them primed and raring to go with ideas.

I am deeply cynical. After 60 years as a voter, nothing has changed with Labour. In government they are full of good intentions but incompetent and in oppositon, the prisoners of the left.

The big difference is that the Conservatives were always nasty but competent. Unfortunately in recent years they have become nasty and incompetent.

I’m waiting to hear how Yvette Cooper is getting on with the boats issue.

She had plenty to say when Shadow HS, she’s not so chatty now.

Maybe it’s because Labour supporters are so used to criticising that they are struggling to be on the receiving end of criticism.

It is far easier to be in opposition than to govern.

When I joined GN about 4 years ago, I couldn't believe all the negative threads about the then Conservative PM. I thought I had joined a Boris bashing site. Threads like - Boris makes my skin crawl etc. And so many others.
