She wasn’t well enough to attend the Remembrance Service. Now it’s been confirmed that she will not be going to the Royal Variety Performance tonight. (Not that I blame her, I’d duck it too if it was on my itinerary). However these engagements are 3 weeks apart. It got me wondering. I hope she’s okay.
I don't know any of these people and they have no part in my life apart from being propped up and kept in the lap of luxury by the taxes I can ill afford to pay. They would have no sympathy for me if the situation was reversed so the feeling I'm afraid is mutual. We do not need a monarchy which ruthlessly benefits financially from the NHS and charities I pay for.
They come across so many people that it wouldn't surprise me that they are all not permanently ill with viruses. She is elderly after all. As an ex smoker myself, if I get a cough it lasts for what seems like forever. Nasty lingers on are viruses.
I believe Camilla's chest infection was due to pneumonia, which she no longer has, but was viral rather than bacterial. I think both she and Katherine are stepping up to help Charles in his duties when all three have been ill. Good for them.
Ive got this chest infection that’s going around 8 days now and I’ve never felt so ill in my life, not even following surgery. I completely lost my voice for three days. It’s just gradually coming back and I can squeak now all I want to do was sleep but now I’ve got a cough that’s keeping me awake. If Camilla felt half as bad as I do no wonder she hasn’t done any engagements but she does look fantastic at the banquet and I hope she is fully recovered from whatever she suffered from as she is doing a wonderful job supporting the king.
If she's got a persistent cough she'd really have to avoid public events, I'd imagine coughing through the Variety Performance or serious public events isn't a good look, even if not due to a serious cause.
Pneumonia does really knock you for six. Most people recover fully but it takes a bit longer than for just an uncomplicated case of flu. She looks like she's mending in a reasonable time frame.
When I have had nasty coughs, colds chest infection (which she has had) it can take me weeks to get better. People are different, why start surmising there is more to it?
I like Queen Camilla and think she is exactly right for King Charles. My Mum had COPD due to heavy smoking all her life. She frequently had bouts of bronchitis, pneumonia and pleurisy so hopefully the Queen has given up the fags as they will only exacerbate a distressing complaint that will deteriorate with age. I wish her well.
I do hope she's o.k., but as we all know, growing older has a serious impact on recuperation-time after any illness. When I was a young mother I simply worked through whatever cold, flu, cough etc. Now I'm 66 and I feel it takes me a few weeks to have my strenght back. Camilla is older, so I guess she needs more time❤️🩹
Charles' wife needs to give up the fag's. Plus she's getting on so her lungs are troubling her due to age. She's probably caught germs on the recent flight from Australia and as Charles has been off duty due to cancer, she is wanting a break so letting the others fill in. I don't like her and certainly don't think she should be titled. The Queen should be a term only for Queen regnant. She is a consort due to her marriage.
I guess so. She's quite frail looking and a heavy cold can really wear you out. Hope she does get the chance to rest up over the next couple of months. Although I like Charles, don't imagine he is that good at really understanding other people's maladies.
Camilla used to be a very heavy smoker . I hope that she hasn't got the beginnings of COPD . Colds that turn into persistent chest infections can be a sign . Hopefully not , it's a horrible illness .
Thanks. My big problem is I get bad cold sores including on my nose and any sort of trauma (this has been trauma) can kick off a big outbreak so antivirals are the important thing for me. I am hoping that I won't be covered in the horrible things in the lead up to Christmas.
