I’m a bit confused about this. Gransnetters are saying LH wasn’t convicted, but I’ve heard on news outlets that she was convicted. With regard to Gransnetters, it seems to depend on whether or not any particular poster supports Labour as to whether or not they say she wasn’t convicted.
I would just like to know the truth, but I’m not expecting to get it from GN.

She was convicted, but it was discharged because it was seen by the court as a minor offence. I don’t think anybody is saying it was anything other than as reported, are they?

A Discharge is a conviction but it was a spent conviction.

I dont think our political convictions can alter this, I think discussions arise around whether she needed to resign, since she had declared the incident (see Galaxy above, 9.36.)

The Times has been told that the company launched an investigation after Haigh said that company mobile phones had been stolen or had gone missing on repeated occasions.

"repeated occasions" is the key to all this. More will come out so Miss Haigh has "done a runner".

I don't think you should make allegations based on allegations until the circumstances are clarified.

I think it’s a shame she has had to resign but I can fully understand why she’s done so.

The right wing media in this country (which is virtually all the media) has different standards for Labour MPs than for others.

Tory & Reform MPs can lie repeatedly and hold convictions from their earlier life but the media doesn’t hold them to account in the same way.

I imagine that she knew she could not expect any support from Keir Starmer because she was critical of the behaviour of P & O.

Yes, but if they didn’t tell her to do that, perhaps she thought it wasn’t necessary.
The insurance company makes it quite clear that I must inform them if I recover something I had claimed for as lost.
