They are, indeed much needed. I think all of us can agree on that.

Maybe Starmer should have stuck to just three - Make people poorer, make them colder, boss them around more. That would have been honest and crisp, totally in synch with what he’s done so far, and he’d have been able to achieve them all.

Yes Casdon I think they are considerable and specific challenges not vague so pretty bold.

The housing, NHS, the police, are what people need badly. who can possibly say these aren't needed?

He was from a working class background with the luck of a good brain and effort to use it getting him where he is today. However, his three siblings didn't. Why are you jealous of his hard earned success?

He knows more than most that as well as hard work people need opportunity and is trying to explain that this is why he intends to make those opportunities available. It seems simple when you use facts not fiction to draw your conclusion TakeThat7

Yes, he was eazybee. There were calls for his resignation within a few months because of the formula 1 Tobacco advertising exemption, and the Cash for Honours scandal.

No, Tony Blair was not reviled in his early years of office. Disliked yes, but that was his personality, not his actions.

I think it’s also unusual for a lot of the population to turn on a prime minister after such a short time in office………🤔

Probably due to the mistakes he made in the first few weeks -reneging on what he said when in opposition and doing it himself, the freebies etc.
People had enough of the behaviour of the previous government. It looked as if there wasn’t going to be an improvement, and then . . . The WFP removal, which he condemned under Sunak as a way of filling a ‘black hole’, and immediately did himself for the very same reason!

No, it’s not unusual Shinamae, have you forgotten how reviled Tony Blair was in his first few months in office? Or Liz Truss for that matter. People are always suspicious of change agents.

There is some good analysis on the news channels about each of the targets and the (considerable) challenges in achieving them. The NHS and housing targets are particularly tough I think. I’m glad he’s done this though, because it builds on the manifesto - it’s unusual for that to happen so explicitly once a party is in power.
