madeleine45 You are actually wanting another human being to be dead. You are unbelievable.
“We are killing like we haven’t killed since 1967”
How ironic - some HMRC staff essentially committing fraud.
He’s just rung the bell on the NY Stock Exchange (considered an honour) to begin the day’s trading!

Once again I will be the lone voice among all the haters. Have great hopes for our country now. Well deserved recognition by Time Magazine.
I would have much preferred Trump to ring the bell on the Titanic!!
Totally....Brave brave woman!
To minimoon - it's the USA - 99% of its people are bonkers.

Of course Trump will think he is being honored and it feeds his massive ego. The truth is that he has no morals or conscience and he and his cronies are set to form a dictatorship in America. And the frightening thing is that he'll get away with it like he has with everything else.I am from the U.S. and I am appalled that so many people here have supported him. They'll wake up soon when their rights are being taken away.
Any man or woman who does not abuse their children, and separates parents from their children, migrants or not, is cruel
They are busy building outsourced detention centres !
We may not wish to be overloaded with migrants (non criminal) however, they do not deserve to be treated like rats or mice ..
Very sad ..
And his legal wife, has expressed her negativity regarding abortion rights and that this measure is a woman´s personal rights - not government ..
It is also in her new book as well as she stated in public.
She is living in Manhattan as he son Baron is attending university in Manhattan.
She is terribly embarrassed by the 4 letter curse words that Trump belts out in public.
Very ignorant to say the least ..

I have several titles I would award him but not that. Where shall I begin?
Moron of the Year
Chauvinist of the Year
Idiot of the Year
Inciter to violence in government of the year
Have many many more , but much of my thoughts would not be acceptable. It is bad enough to see such a selfcentred person being voted in, but what does it say about the people who voted for him?!!!!
I agree with you 100% ..
Just to note, what I have to say would not be polite here on this forum or any other forum.
The USA and the rest of the world better BUCKLE UP !!
It's going to be a rough four years~~

A sort of plutocracy/dictatorship in the making Camry, looking at the line up of appointees - I just hope for you and others that when it comes to certain measures he will meet obstacles from his own Senate as well as States who oppose him and that he can't seize total control of the judiciary. Healthcare is crucial for his poorer voters and I doubt he will make things better as he's hand in glove with the big insurance firms.
Well they talked about Putin quite a lot too

Hi ha!!! well said Madeleine! I was astonished that he got in & think America will regret that. I think it's strange but true that some people have got magnetic personalities yet are crap rulers like Boris.
Whatever charisma they have I wish we could bottle it and give some to Keir Starmer who seems a perfectly diligent PM but is as dull as ditchwater!
They have some great people in the party though who do have more charisma, Darren Jones, Chris Bryant & more

Obama - one of the good guys 👏👏👏........probably not the Nobel prize but the last decent POTUS. Intelligent and caring.
Hear hear!
TRUMP = 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Don’t buy or support Time magazine. To support a felon who is awful is appalling.

Well, he's certainly a 'personality' - of sorts!
For goodness sake: the Time magazine, a highly improbable arbiter of virtue. Best ignore
Time Personality of the Year isn't necessarily a good thing. It's awarded to the person who has had the most influence on the year, for better or worse. Hitler and Stalin have both received awards. It's also traditional, with a few exceptions, for the American president to receive the award. The whole idea is a lot of nonsense anyway.
Of course it's simply that the owners think having T on the cover will sell more copies and gain more advertising revenue.

The only upside of this is that Musk is probably seething that he wasn’t chosen.
He was The Times POTY in '21 - and was in fact on the short-list again this year.
As for Trump being nominated a second time, I believe every single American president has been nominated at least once - apart from Gerald Ford.
Among this year's short list were:
Kamala Harris
Kate Middleton (as some still refer to her)
Mark Zuckerberg
Benjamin Netanyahu
... and Musk again
The Times has a "morally neutral" criteria for selection. They choose the 'most influential person' - for good or bad... which would explain why these two were also selected back in the 30s when the 'award' was Man Of The Year.
Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin (Stalin twice).
Well, they certainly were influential
The only upside of this is that Musk is probably seething that he wasn’t chosen.
Shame they don't think in terms of "people who've made a difference for the good". Thunberg was on, one year, so its not just USA figures or it wasn't then.
I'm not sure The Times Person Of The Year is actually chosen for his or her worthiness - it's more to do with who might have made the biggest impact, newswise.
If that is the case, much as I dislike the man and what he stands for, I can see why they have chosen Trump.
I think the choice is meant to be sort of objective rather than ideological.
There may be many people who don't like Trump - including The Times own editorial staff among them, but he has certainly been influential - hence the choice.
Quite 'balanced' and democratic really, if you think about it - they won't base the choice on whether they like or dislike the individual.
