Terrorist attack in Germany.

He was sane enough to drive the 50 kilometers north from Bernburg to Magdeburg.
He was sane enough to choose a place where there would be thousands of innocent people to cause the most damage to life.
He was sane enough to select the emergency entrance to the Christmas market.
He was sane enough to put his foot down on the accelerator to drive into people at great speed.
It sounds like it was planned in great detail to me, but then I can't see how it would cross anyone's mind in the first place.

I have just seen the face of the poor child that died, on the news. How as a mother or father would you ever, ever get over that?

My sympathy doesn’t go to the perpetrator. He must be absolutely insane to do such an evil thing because no sane person would ever contemplate doing such an evil atrocity. My sympathy goes entirely to the victims, who were innocently enjoying a normal Christmas activity and whose lives have now been destroyed.

Utter evilness and wickedness. There is no excuse or reason. But he must be insane because no one could be so evil otherwise.

Why should any Gransnetter on here offer any solution? And what difference would it make even if they did? It’s not up to us to offer any solution because it wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference whatever we said or did. The solution, if there is one, is in the hands of those in power. And in truth, none of them have the political will to do anything that might actually change anything. Not that I know what that might be.

We have to accept that we are absolutely helpless in the face of such evil. There is nothing any of us can do and no solution that any of us can offer. And that is the truth!

Mt61 You do write some appalling things. What you wrote was the equivalent of expecting an A&E consultant to treat himself when he has been severelly injured in a road accident.

Those working as psychologiss, psychiatrists, counsellors and more widely in mental services are as likely as anyone to develop a mental illness and like most people with a mental illness, unable to understand that that has happened.

If hes ranting & raving enough to knock people over then he can’t be well in his mind, can he? I have have many a bad day but I certainly wouldn’t wish to harm anyone 🙄

apparently he had become Paranoid in the recent months about the German government.. It does sound like he was quite Mentally unwell to me.. But I expect we will get a fuller picture in the days to come..
