Trump in fighting mood

(167 Posts)

President elect Trump was in fighting mood yesterday with his promise that 'all hell will break loose' should Hamas not return the remaining hostages before his inauguration.
He also wants to take by force if necessary, Greenland and the Panama Canal.
Oh and the little matter of changing the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Strap in everyone, we're in for a bumpy ride.

I am curious to know how Trump negotiates with Putin over Ukraine as we all know that Trump is going to stop the war. So war should be over very soon?

I think it will go something like this:

"Vlad, my good friend, don't settle for just part of Ukraine, take it all; I don't give a sh*#."

And then he'll tell us all that he ended the war!

Oh no, please include Johnson, punishment for past misdeeds.

Allira Thu 09-Jan-25 23:36:12

madeleine45 I thought you were going to invite them to your house!
You missed out Musk. Poor old Johnson, I don't think he really deserves to be lost down a sink hole with that lot.

Just give him a talking-to.

I would bet that in even the very first week Trump and Musk will be tearing each others ego to pieces.

In a fantasy world - ideally - Melania Trump would run away with Musk. Not for his money, of course......

..or his good looks🤭
Sounds a fascinating scenario, shall I get the popcorn in?

Poor Melania, I’m not sure anybody deserves that!

Don't think she deserves Trump either.

I think I will get some very smart invitation cards, and suggest that Trump. Putin, Assad, Farage, Johnson and a few others I can add on, can all come for a special get together .I am going to suggest a very specific meeting place of Ripon, and consult with my geologist friend for the date and time. So hopefully they will all come to my designated place. I dont actually intend to be there myself (Oh did I forget to remind them that we have had major holes open up in Ripon, and just as they all meet up to see who can be top dog (or top lunatic) the ground will open up and they will all disappear beneath the ground!! Ah well we can all dream cant we. ?You would think that the americans who think shooting people is an answer for something, could, instead of attacking schools just go straight for Trump. He did encourage people to invade the government. A totally mad and lunatic person you could not trust for an inch. He thinks if he says something that is all he needs to do for it to happen. Ah well I might try that. Abracadabra and he has disappeared!! Oh no is he still here?

Russia wants Greenland too. I recall that after WW2 they were co-operating with the US to melt the Arctic ice. Does anyone recall that? I did wonder when everyone blamed global warming.

As a Canadian I can tell you that we have been extremely offended by the USA president elect's words!

He is another Putin and Hitler with his expansionist rhetoric.

Unfortunately, many USAers are ignorant of anything outside their country. Over the many years they have been sold a bill of false goods... that they are the greatest, smartest, most wonderful country in the world. They only excel in two areas...one of the largest military machines and the largest number of people in their prisons.
You can check the statistics on their poor level of healthcare, education, etc. etc. compared to other western countries.

The crazy billionaire Musk is pulling the strings, I think planning to take over all the western countries in the long run. He's already been interferring by commenting on the politics of other countries including the UK.

Buckle up!! The USA is going to hell in a handcart~~ We can only hope he doesn't take the rest of us along with him!!

You said it much better than I could.

He's not going to get the Panama Canal because it belongs to Panama, hence it's name'. It's not being run by the Chinese as he has claimed. There are plenty of nations who would back Panama up if he did try to invade. Plus there's NATO. The Greenland plan won't happen either, as the country belongs to Denmark. If somebody doesn't stop him, there are plenty of people in the USA who didn't vote for him who will. He became President to pardon himself of the crimes he's committed, revenge on those people he believe wronged him, and as he did last time funnel money from the economy into his bank account. Plus play golf which he cheats at.

wibblywobblywobblebottom Thu 09-Jan-25 18:10:02

All that is nonsense. He won't do any of it. He's trying to show he's a strong man like Putin, instead of the demented old man that he is. Just like he was going to lower prices (using tariffs that would have the opposite effect) and inflation, cut energy bills by 50%, deport illegal and legal immigrants from America. If he did manage to do all that he would bankrupt the nation. Or MABA.

I think American has huge problems ahead when Trump becomes President but we have too. Another 4 years plus of Starmer and where will we be ?
We will be into a deep recession soon following that awful budget and I can see that there will be riots before long as Starmer is doing nothing towards getting prosecuting of all who knew about the the Pakistani gang rapes and were in a position to do something. Police, politicians, social workers CPS. All should be charged. Awkward for Starmer as he is much more a lawyer than politician and is always right.
On the other hand and back to Trump who might give us favourable trade deals and sanction European countries. That would give Starmer a big dilemma.

Yes, but what is even more worrying, is that this totally unhinged narcissist was elected again by a vast number of people. I find this even more frightening, terrifying even.

Eloethan Thu 09-Jan-25 15:56:06

I think he is totally unhinged, and quite frightening.

Milest0ne Thu 09-Jan-25 15:50:22

Not very original thinking by Trump. He is copying Putin. As they say " imitation is the sincerest form flattery"
I wonder what Trump would do if Putin decides he wants Alaska back?

^In Trumps position I would talk tough too we will see what his actions are soon enough.^

What exactly is Trump's 'position' that he needs to talk tough about?

Is the US seriously threatened in any way?

Lots of interesting posts, but can no-one tell me what are the threats to Trump that make it necessary for him to 'talk tough'?

Perhaps David can, as if he were in Trump's position (i.e about to become one of the most powerful people in the world) he'd talk tough too?

NanKate Thu 09-Jan-25 14:40:13

GrauntyHelen. I know this is a worrying subject but you did give me a laugh. 😆

GrannyGravy13 Thu 09-Jan-25 14:30:25

suelld please do not shoot the messenger (me) I only posted something which was discussed on the news this morning.

Oldbat1 Thu 09-Jan-25 14:26:42

Trump or Putin is there a difference?? They are both mad and extremely dangerous.

Wyllow3 Thu 09-Jan-25 14:25:31

It certainly appear clear that even had the hydrants been full, it was so overwhelming that it would have made little difference. But what it does show is that in a situation where choices have to be made between huge scale homelessness and fire protection, the decisions to cut hugely on budgets is going to make the most vulnerable more so.

Trump is a narcissist. They like to appear omnipotent. He's high on power and speaking like a dictator. He and Musk are a very unpleasant duo!

Unpleasant is an understatement …Downright corrupt and NASTY! To use a favourite Trump word. Have you noticed how anyone who disagrees with him ot dares to oppose him is called ‘NASTY’ .

Meanwhile, Trump is blaming Newsom (governor of California) for the terrible wildfires. Unbelievable. (short video)

edition.cnn.com/2025/01/09/politics/video/gavin-newsom-california-fires-trump-digvid

Apparently there has been $millions reallocated to the homeless of LA which would (could?) have gone to the Fire Department. Less Fire Department personnel.

This is being given as the reason for some fire hydrants to be empty (not sure how the US system works) and fire crews have been using swimming pools as a source for water.

The above was discussed on ITV breakfast news this morning.

As far as I understand it this is the same s* throwing that Trump did over the last hurricane disaster.
The monies were not diverted but completely seperate funds.
The water for the fire hydrants is apparently stored is massive water tanks but this particular urban fire with the added Santa Ana winds just grew too fast and furious that these water tanks were emptied and not able to be replenished quickly enough.
It does sound an odd system, and definitely needs looking at, but in this case it basically grew out of hand so quickly that all the usual fire fighting tools were overridden. The water filled fire fighting planes couldn’t fly because off the ferocious winds, and it became ‘ a perfect storm’.

WHY oh WHY are the Trump voters unable to see what kind of a corrupt, immoral, and quite frankly ill-educated eejit he is? Power and money rule the US ( and most other places) and political expediency are reasons for the brighter Trump voters to support him… but I will never understand how the people voting for him cannot see that he LIES and twists the truth every time he opens that horrible pouty little mouth.
Most of the voters appear to have believed he will lower grocery prices and will rid the US of the darker coloured immigrants ( he, and they, seem not to be worried by the lighter skinned immigrants)…. Well they got what they wished for … now wait and see….!
