Will Trump Last The 4 Year Term?

He's 79 in June and his increasingly bizarre pronouncements, erratic behaviour on the campaign trail and reports that he temporarily fell asleep (?) during Jimmy Carter's funeral leads me to wonder if his confusion is a pointer to dementia.

Exactly the reason he has openly declared President Biden to be unfit for office.

So maybe it's as well he has Musk to make his decisions for him.

Someone will take him out ...I will give it less than a year

Watching footage from Greenland yesterday. A pristine, beautiful country, with a peaceful population.

Trump needs to wind his neck in. Greenland is a sovereign state. He may fancy himself as another Putin who can walk into another country that he thinks should be part of and benefit to his jurisdiction, but he needs to be told no by all USA allies.

Yes, unless there is a calamity. I believe e and Musk are bound to have a falling out as they are both strong characters.

You mean Both are SELF-Absorbed & EGOCENTRIC. Neither are ‘ Strong’ …they are BULLIES.

I loathe Putin more.

Louella “We do need to stop stressing about Trump. So many people are filled with such loathing it's irrational.”

WHY is it irrational to loathe the utterly immoral, corrupt, narcissistic person with NO empathy! Politics or no politics. Regardless of what he and his cronies will or won’t do to the US after the 20th, as a human being he is a LOATHSOME MAN !

I think he will be ok for America. Not for the rest of us,though. We should not judge him by European standards, he is singing from a different songsheet. He would never have been elected either here or in the UK, we know that.

Honestly, I don't think it is her at all- but a lookalike.

Do you need to go to Specsavers? 🤔

Yes it is very easy to make an assumption based on a single photograph and then pass that assumption on as fact in a forum. I just wish that more people realized that not everything you see online or hear in the media is true.

Here are both of them at Jimmy Carters funeral.

Perhaps that was during a prayer.
Many people don't close their eyes during prayers now but some still do.

Not everyone who closes their eyes during a service (or while concentrating ie. thinking) is sleeping. If they nod off, well then that is sleep but holding very still with your eyes closed and neck upright is not necessarily sleeping.

I can't believe how old Bill looks. Which is ridiculous of me. We all get old if we're lucky enough.

He’s been ill very recently which I’m sure shows on his face, he looked tired.

I did notice she was not looking her usual best. Typically she is flawless.

Melania.

Who Claremont? The only person I had a problem identifying was GW Bush. I didn't recognize him at first glance.

He looks pretty fit to me. He might be assassinated, hopefully not. I have never seen him fall asleep at a public event, unlike Biden, who seemingly does it all the time.

wibblywobblywobblebottom Mon 13-Jan-25 19:04:31

I hope not. I haven't seen his medical record, but I would say he has some sort of dementia. If that doesn't kill him, I'm sure there is an American who would be glad to oblige. Put him out of their misery. I wouldn't let that pig ignorant tonk Musk make decisions for him.

Claremont Mon 13-Jan-25 18:25:59

It is very likely that the Republicans will have to take him down themselves when he gets too dangerous and totally 'loses' it.

As a contrast to Trump, I saw this quote today, attributed to the recently deceased President Carter:

A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It is a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster, and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity.

It's almost as if he knew. Maybe he did

" that must behave with bluster, and boasting and rashness" it fits so well especially in the age of "X".
When everything uttered has to be "fact checked".

If OP has a crystal ball and knows the answer to this, any chance of next Saturday’s Lotto numbers?

I think Trump will last. See no reason why he won't. However, I am more concerned about his country. My goodness me. what a mess we are in! But then I knew Labour were not capable. They never are!

Not what the song meant. However he seems to come out on top.
