Today it’s Memorial Day for MLK in the US overshadowed by the TRUMP Inauguration … wonder what he would think of US politics …

OMG who is this man on this minute.

Had to mute him- he just did not know when to stop.
And Jeff Bezos needs to learn how to behave during a prayer or benediction- the camera will seek you out.
Clive Myrie's interruption was in poor taste and bad practice too.

Mamardoit Mon 20-Jan-25 17:54:12

I've found the whole performance quite horrific. I can't remember other inaugurations. We're they all this bad?

That was rude.

I hope your children never have to test your theory. Mine, unfortunately, likely will.

It's not rude! Do some actual research. Not left wing articles.

The BMJ has an excellent article. These anti abortion activists are not going to be listened to.

But if you want to believe that states in USA will be executing women who have abortions, that's up to you.

And FFS, who cares about what Melania is wearing

Well, quite a few of us on GN actually.

Where are the men in white coats !

Claremont Mon 20-Jan-25 17:49:40

Posts crossed- my comment was about the Rabbi.

Claremont Mon 20-Jan-25 17:49:06

He was indeed,

merlotgran - you can compliment a woman for what she is wearing if you want. And I can say it is totally irrelevant in this warmongering, theratening, scary context.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 20-Jan-25 17:47:58

I think FLOTUS Trump looked stunning and appropriate for the occasion.

RosiesMaw2 Mon 20-Jan-25 17:47:05

The Rabbi was seriously scary

merlotgran Mon 20-Jan-25 17:46:54

And FFS, who cares about what Melania is wearing

Are we not allowed to compliment a woman who has dressed elegantly and appropriately for the occasion?

Syracute agree with everything you've said!

bee16B Mon 20-Jan-25 17:45:03

Michelle should have been by his side.

She has more decency and integrity in her little finger than Trump and his gleeful fans will ever have.

His rhetoric is the stuff of nightmares.

They are literally telling us to our faces that is what they have planned?

So yes, I believe them when they tell me what their plans are. Why don't you?

I'm not naive

Did he forget to say the US is annexing Greenland?
Barron looked horrified at the planting of the Stars and Stripes on Mars- is he perhaps afraid he might be volunteered to lead that mission?

Yes, I was surprised he 'forgot' taking over Greenland- perhaps he was warned that was one stop too far.

Our poor grand children- let's forget all environmental protection and any effort to slow down climate change?

And FFS, who cares about what Melania is wearing sad

I thought Melania looked stylish, elegant, classy.

Felt sorry for Obama walking in on his own, Michelle should have been by his side.

aggie Mon 20-Jan-25 17:40:17

Maybe he could lead the way and go to Mars !

Wish I hadn’t turned the sound on !
Expand American territory??

….to Mars! 😂

He’s safe. He’d never fit in the spacecraft.

The pioneers were Irish , Polish , German English Scots , he needs to refresh his history

Melania Trump looks really smart, as usual. I like her outfit, although I loved the pale blue outfit she wore first time around.

Apparently many designers refuse to work with her, but she seems to manage to look very good without their help. Of course she was a model, so she can carry off clothes well.

I read that she intends to be much more hands on this time around, now her son is no longer a child. She supports many charities and intends to do much more charitable work. I did admire her for putting her child first, and living in New York where he was at school, when Trump was in power before.

I’m not a Trump fan, but I admire Melania.
