Today it’s Memorial Day for MLK in the US overshadowed by the TRUMP Inauguration … wonder what he would think of US politics …
Would love to be a fly on the wall when they The BIDENS with the TRUMPS have tea together …
I think MLK would be very sad at the way some political divisions in the US are conducted in terms of hatred and incitement.
No, I don't think Trump was ever in MLK's dream of a better world...

Yes I agree ..especially about immigration and whether Trump will close the border and deport many Mexican citizens
Trump is multi faceted and I go along with his dislike of wars. He apparently said that war interrupts trade but that is only a part of the argument against war.
I am in awe of Melania’s ability to walk on stilts …. Quite remarkable height of her heels. Very sombre first outfit to church this morning.
Even the pope has spoken up:
"Trump plan to deport migrants a 'disgrace', says Pope"
www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0jnz8q6p32o
Trumps plans will tear families apart if they go ahead full on.
He has definitely said he will close the border immediately, as to people coming in, and will continue to build his wall, but he cant easily change the rules as to children born in the US being citizens.
He wants to, but they are actually protected by the Constitution of the US itself.
(I also doubt if MLK would also have supported Trumps policy on the death penalty (more of it).
Illegal migrant deportation has cross party backing.
That’s a first.
“We had our first glimpse of Melania Trump’s Inauguration look as she arrived for an early morning church service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, across from the White House, on Monday.
The incoming US First Lady wore a navy tailored coat by US designer Adam Lippes under which a crisp white shawl collar could be glimpsed at the neckline. Her navy boater-style hat by Eric Javits featured a white band, and the look was completed by ultra-high navy suede court shoes and a pair of black leather gloves.
Bare legs aside, it was a look that reflected the weather in Washington DC - a chilly -6 degrees centigrade, which has forced officials to stage the inauguration indoors for the first time since 1985.
It’s a look which bears a likeness to one she wore in 2019 during a state visit to the UK. For a visit to Buckingham Palace to meet the late Queen, she wore a white Dolce & Gabbana dress with a white boater-style hat by her stylist Herve Pierre, trimmed with a black ribbon.
In fact, it’s a look which bears similarities with the British royal style playbook. A tailored coat, elegant millinery and sky-high courts are a failsafe fashion formula for the Princess of Wales, Duchess of Edinburgh et al. For a ceremonial occasion such as this, it’s a reliable one from which to borrow.”
Only on some measures, FGT, only on some measures. Lets be clear on that.
What Europe thinks of a new Trump administration
As Donald Trump takes the oath in Washington, most European leaders, even as they clamour to congratulate the new president, will be anxiously buckling up for a bumpy four years.
A Kamala Harris victory would have been a win for the status quo but instead Europe is bracing for a second Trump term that threatens to be every bit as tumultuous and combustible as his first.
There is uncertainty over the unpredictable Mr Trump’s plans to end the war in Ukraine. He expects Europe to pay much more for its own, and Ukraine’s, defence, and reportedly wants European armies to police a demilitarised zone in post-ceasefire Ukraine.
There are concerns over the possible consequences for Europe if he pursues a trade war with China. Europe is also in Mr Trump’s tariff crosshairs because he believes countries like Germany have got rich off trade surpluses with the US.
Mr Trump’s plans for the Middle East, Iran and international agreements on issues such as climate change will weigh on European minds, as old world governments struggle to stay relevant as the US tilt to the Indo-Pacific intensifies.
European leaders, including Keir Starmer, have been discussing how to tame Trump, who diplomatic sources stress is a “transactional” leader who can be negotiated with. They have been echoing Trump’s talking points on defence spending, while warning Russia won’t negotiate peace in Ukraine if Washington cuts off arms supplies to Kyiv.
Not all leaders regard a Trump presidency with dread. Hungary’s nationalist leader Viktor Orban is overjoyed. Meanwhile Italy’s hard Right Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, who is attending the inauguration, is expected to be Europe’s “Trump-whisperer”, thanks to her friendship with Mr Trump and Elon Musk.”
Am watching SKY live …so many known faces in The Capitol awaiting the outgoing and incoming presidents
Trump (yesterday)
Putting illegal immigration front and centre of his agenda, he vowed that “by the time the sun sets tomorrow, the invasion of our country will have come to a halt”.
Pardons issued by Biden for Fauci, Gen. Milley and the Jan 6 committee members - but not Nancy Pelosi. Must be a nervous time for her.
Hilary Clinton looks well.
Is Starmer watching this on TV with Lammy?

Trump can say what he wants but he didn’t solve this issue last time and he won’t this time . There are just too many immigrants and he will have opposition in sanctuary cities. He is not going unapposed as you incorrectly pointed out . The immigrants are needed in many of the US industries like agriculture . Without them crops will go unpicked . Let’s also not forget that as Trump is being elected he is unabashedly cashing in with his and Melania s crypto currency . This was his real priority : cashing in on the presidency and avoiding prison !
Has anyone noticed the lady in white jacket sitting behind the podium wearing a white bra bassinet ..really.. where does she thinks she’s at??
🤣 indeed.
'When America sneezes, the world catches a cold', let's hope that the Trump remedy will also spread far and wide.
Well I am not sure what is so great about Melania wearing a hat that hides her face with exception of her pout . She looks like she would rather be anywhere else !
Compare 200 executive orders on day 1 to get the USA functioning again as opposed to our UK governments spiteful and business regressive day 1 initiatives combined with lengthy reviews to decide on obvious issues like care and the NHS they moaned about for 14 years in opposition.
Trump is up and running.
What a day for the USA - no more men in women’s sports or private spaces, no more workery in government or the armed forces, no more four star generals dressing up as women and making America a laughing stock. No more DEI, no more self destructive green energy nonsense - and lots more liquid gold to power their economy. Boy am I envious…bigly.
Bustier ..not bassinet 🤣
Melania is gorgeous! Elegant and classy on the world stage.
“Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day!” 🎵 🎶
I’ve got a wonderful feeling, everything's going Trump’s way…
How did Boris get a ticket?
