I found this very disturbing, especially the look on his face with the first one.

Very very disturbing. When in positions such as he finds himself then NO allowances should be made. Musk is a very very dangerous man.

It was chilling and frightening.

Well, he's bought the President of the USA (everyone has a price!) so he probably reckons he doesn't have to answer to anyone.

Musk, the saviour of vulnerable young girls in Oldham.

Where was the outrage when these salutes were executed?

Are they saluting or waving? Where is the context on these?

We have the video context on Musk

Syracute I am not a POTUS Trump supporter.

I admire Elon Musk’s work with regards electric vehicles and his commitment to space exploration.

Do I admire him as a man, how can I as I do not know him?

His salute is being interpreted in various ways depending on where and what you read.

Well Trump has just signed off support for electric vehicles whatever Musk is developing - part of his climate change denying

"Trump revokes Biden order that had set 50% electric vehicles target for 2030"
www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/20/trump-executive-order-electric-vehicles

"Trump’s order is part of a promised push to repeal environmental protections introduced by Biden and to support US makers of gas-powered cars. He has also promised to roll back auto pollution standards finalized by Biden’s administration last spring "

Desdemona Tue 21-Jan-25 14:50:10

This is really worrying.

This is ridiculous and straight off X . You can’t compare a copy and paste job catching a sudden movement . There is a video of Musk gesturing not once but twice . These people are decidedly not Fascist . Musk arguably is ! He supports the AFD which is a far right German political group that Musk has recently had talks with . He then just shortly after pulls this stunt with a Nazi salute not once but twice ! Don’t be naive . This man is as dangerous as Trump and worse he has an office in the White House now . He does not belong there .

With all due respect GG13, those gestures weren't the same. Musk knew exactly what he was doing. I hate conflict and don't want to upset anyone, really love reading everyone's views on here. Don't post that often, but enjoy a good debate.

I disagree

I see trouble ahead.

Musk knew exactly what he was doing... And yes there's trouble ahead... The friendship between him and Trump won't last, both are too power crazy, both like their own way.
It's made me feel really sad, seeing him making that gesture, knowing what's behind it.... Very cruel.

Yep. Looks just the same

ViceVersa Tue 21-Jan-25 13:24:10

When the Neo-Nazis are hailing the gesture as one of their own, it speaks volumes.

62Granny Tue 21-Jan-25 13:24:00

Power Crazy.

62Granny Tue 21-Jan-25 13:23:04

Very scary, he is lower crazy and I think is using/ control Trump as his puppet.

To me he didn't seem to know where his heart really was, because he was touching his shoulder. The heart is lower down!

Is comparing Musk's salute to Hezbollah activists a positive thing?

Musk is the supposedly richest man in the world and in cahoots with the supposed leader of the free world, not an impoverished and anonymous Palestinian in Gaza. There is no comparison in this argument.

He clearly put his hand on his heart when he said 'My heart goes out to you'.. after the salute

Casdon Tue 21-Jan-25 12:49:07

I really do question whether somebody who has no control of their actions by the age of 50+ should be considered fit for very high profile public office, particularly in an unelected role where his actions are so visible to the world. His motivation is irrelevant really, because people, and nations, have already drawn their own conclusions.

Oh dear. I'm finding it hard to believe that anyone would say this was a Nazi salute.

He is indeed, a very unusual character. But please, don't be so predictable. The left do open themselves up to ridicule.

This. 👏

Musk has Asperger’s. Highly intelligent but like a friend of ours, doesn’t recognise many social mores, gets overly excited by something that interests them and certainly doesn’t know how to read the room. Family gently remind them at times.

Absolutely 👏👏👏

We have an autistic child in our family. If you gave him your computer he would bust in to it, no problem.
But try making him understand what the toilet bowl is for. 🤷‍♀️

Hmm, might that be more to do with him being male - I have two grandsons who should really have had their own personal 'Toilet Attendant" in service every time they used the loo!

Our autistic GC can also sort out computers, phones, TV’s etc, but has no idea where the washing basket, dishwasher or any domestic appliances are or what they are for 🤷‍♀️

He can cook as long as it’s in the air fryer.
