My goodness the statement from the Murdoch is extraordinarily damning.

I wonder what it is that they are keen that we don’t hear at a trial.

Was he wronged by his brother ? How are the public wronged

Harry was wronged (along with many others) by The Sun, which is why this whole thread was started.

Harry may have done wrong, I think most people would accept that, but that still does not justify or excuse what was done to him, and I'm amazed that someone people either cannot or will not see that. I'm not defending him in any way - I've made no secret of the fact that I'm not a fan of the royal family in general - but in this particular instance, he was the one who was wronged (along with many others, including ordinary members of the public).

Your defence is noted on every thread of H&M, I don’t agree,

Being on the receiving end of his betrayals must cause much hurt

Iam64 Tue 28-Jan-25 07:36:28

It isn’t about being ‘a big fan of Harry’ for me. As her majesty suggested, memories may differ as do feelings about experiences
It’s about feeling compassion for two
Brothers and their wider family being hurt by many things. Harry being one of them not the scapegoat for anything and everything

He was with her, his grandmother was alive , I accept there are
big fans of Harry here, doesn’t change the fact he lied

Allira Mon 27-Jan-25 22:58:04

And that was in The Guardian so it must be true.

His son wouldn’t be given a title because of skin colour

To be fair, that wasn't Harry, it was his wife.

Harry must have known the protocol.

Tom Watson believed Carl Beech ? Harry’s lies were his own

Without being a fly on the wall, none of us know for sure exactly what are lies, what are someone's perception and what has been blown out of proportion.

Iam64 Mon 27-Jan-25 21:28:12

Apologies if I posted a lie. My memory is initially the claim of a Westminster paedophile ring was seen as credible / only later did it become clear the complainant was a fantasist. His medical and other records should have been thoroughly investigated in the initial stages.

Tom Watson repeated info the police had concluded to be true and credible. Just saying

That is totally untrue and I cannot imagine why you have posted it.

The police concluded that the original claims were that of a fantasist and Tom Watson apologised both publicly also and privately to those he had implicated falsely.

The police did acknowledge the “undue pressure” that Tom Watson had put on them to proceed, even though there was no evidence to justify any action.

I can see no justification for the posting of what is essentially a lie.

Yes false accusations can do much harm, Tom Watson and Harry both guilty

There is absolutely no comparison. Harry might have damaged some feelings but Tom Watson ruined lives.

I couldn't remember what it was Tom Watson had done. Thank you for reminding me. He really is despicable, and now he is a Lord. And also fat again.

M0nica Mon 27-Jan-25 11:50:02

IF Tom Watson really deeply regretted and was sorry for the terrible harm he did to so many people by his horrific false accusations. Accusations that led to people losing their jobs and homes, he would have shown it by refusing the peerage.

How can anyone treat with any credibilty someone either as credulous as Tom Watson, or as nasty as he was in his constantly repeating accusations that he must have known from the start were not fully authenticated and always doubtful.

Tom Watson apologised in his maiden speech in the Lords

He's a Lord?

Really? However unpleasant you are, however many lives you ruin, you can still become a Peer of the Realm and make decisions that affect us all.

Time this ridiculous system of rewarding unworthy cronies was stopped and we had an elected Upper Chamber.

Jaberwok Sat 25-Jan-25 14:29:50

Totally agree Lydie45. Leon Britton went to his death with this deeply unpleasant man's accusations ringing in his ears. How he was ever elevated to a Peerage is completely. beyond me.

Lydie45 Sat 25-Jan-25 13:58:33

So full of righteous condemnation of the press but not a single person points out Tom Watson used parliamentary privilege to publicly say prominent politicians were part of a peodophile ring who tortured and murdered children without a shred of evidence. To this day he hasn’t apologised to some of them. So two wrongs don’t make a right but he destroyed peoples lives far more than the papers did his.

Why am I even here?

Curiosity, maybe?

That’s why I take a quick look from time to time. To see if the H &M haters, who have triumphantly hijacked the thread, are still going.

Will we be stuck with 20 pages of it, I wonder? hmm

No. I have no curiosity regarding the royal family and their antics.

I think I was most likely wasting time rather than cooking tea.

Now I've had tea and waiting for the Traitors final... that's probably a bit like the RF to be fair...all that Scottish stuff.

The police are looking into following up the potential charges of perjury perverting justice etc.

Not quite sure what you mean here.

They’ve requested papers but said

“ It remains the case that there are no active investigations.”

Why more angry than most people ?
