There is nothing likeable about Trump.
I loathe him and think he's quite dangerous.
Just to be clear.

I have been alarmed by the number of GN members who seem to seriously be calling for Trump like political leaders in the UK. Leaving aside his racism, bankruptcies, misogyny, sexual assaults, and my 'favourite', mocking a disabled reporter.....which of these executive orders do you find an attractive prospect;
Cancelling the price bar on insulin, was $35 per month, now forecast to be $1500 per month
Cancelling state funding of cancer research
KKK members in the South, roaming the streets, handing out 'go home' leaflets ( I understand this may be appealing to some)
Pardoning criminals who assaulted Police Officers
So, which of these appeals to you?
There is nothing likeable about Trump.
I loathe him and think he's quite dangerous.
Just to be clear.
Me too.

Latest news is Putin says he is willing to negotiate end of war with Ukraine.
He says if Donald Trump became President last time there would not have been a war.
That is great news.
Is it, Primrose53, or is Putin saying that because he sees Trump endorsing Russia annexing Ukraine? I think we should reserve judgement until we know the terms of the deal.
You’re a Trump supporter aren’t you? If I’m right there (and apologies if I’m not) why can’t you explain what you like about him? It isn’t a game. Why do you feel unable to explain what you like about Trump?
Agree Oreo
These threads, & many of the posts on them, are just goady, pure & simple.
So childish.
And they wonder why no one wants to play their silly games.
👏👏👏 Casdon.
That is NOT in reply to Cossy by the way.

I would again direct you to actually watching and listening to Reform's Conferences and also to President Donald Trump's Inauguration Speech and you will then see that everything they are about and their values are what the majority of decent people share. There is nothing else to be said, it's all there, how the extreme left are ruining both America and the UK with their woke idealogy and anti-democratic ideas. Obviously you haven't bothered to find out and see just what a nice person Nigel Farage is. Again, your comments against us on here who support decent values are inflammatory, always trying to have a go at us under different headings. I am not going to waste any more time on your comments. There is nothing else to be said - get yourselves educated!
We are educated JudyBloom. We also use the power of independent thought to make our own minds up, and we don’t all share the values you mention, or the way they choose to impose them.
The majority of decent people definitely do not support Farage, there are decent people everywhere supporting all the mainstream parties. Your post is offensive.
I rarely join in with these sorts of threads but I don't appreciate being told to get educated because I don't agree with someone else's point of view.

Well, I’ve got my cuppa and feet up waiting to read how great Mr Trump is.. I’ll send out for popcorn and ice-cream later.
Possibly, reading comments like yours, any GN members who do like DT will regard this as a goading thread and refuse to comply with the demand to explain themselves.
I wouldn’t blame them.
How do you know we haven't bothered to find out about Farage? Because we don't see him as you do? I'm sure most of us don't need to be told to get ourselves educated thank you.

Whatever else he is or isn't, he is a proud patriot and that is very appealing to his voter base. I only wish we had the same, as I'm sick of this country being talked down by the current government, which I would never have voted for in a million years.
Such a patriot that he was insulting about a truly brave patriot who didn't try to avoid military service because of his flat feet. John McCain was twice the man and ten times the patriot that Trump is.
Talk is cheap.Yes, Trump is such a true patriot (god, I hate that word)
When President Donald Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, near Paris, in 2018, he blamed rain for the last-minute decision, saying that “the helicopter couldn’t fly” and that the Secret Service wouldn’t drive him there. Neither claim was true.
Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.
Is this your idea of a proud patriot? It isn't mine
Good grief. I hadn’t heard that before. How disgraceful to dishonour The Fallen in such a way. I am truly shocked even though I would believe anything of that man. He couldn’t stoop lower than that.

I look forward to reading what appeals to anyone here because it’s beyond my imagination. I can’t think of one redeeming feature.
He always wears a good white shirt. Does that count 🤪

It is the politics of negativity. In his recent speech I didn't hear Trump make one statement about what will really make Amercica great apart from getting rid of people and policies.
It's the same with Farage- just a whole list of things to get rid of with no vision on what to replace it with.
Even with "just" a list of things to get rid of, maybe he thinks that will help a lot?
So what would be wrong with that?
And apart from that, here is a link[no idea of its bias or authenticity"] of other things he has supposedly talked about.

Some of which would presumably fall into the "vision" you want?
I dont know who you are as a poster.
But going by just that link, he appears to have said quite a lot which you maybe didnt notice or hear?

Yep, Trump the draft dodging patriot.
I don’t know who is more foolish Trump for saying he is a patriot or others for calling him this.

Those who appear to find migrants so offensive, I do hope you only eat British food, buy British goods, watch British TV etc etc etc.
I was thinking the same Cossy. I am sure if we all traced our ancestry, many of us would find we came from immigrant families. I for one did!

I was quite relieved last time that Trump wasn't able to fulfil all his crazy plans. Not so sure this time as he has a majority in both houses.
Yes, this is very scary!

I think part of the admiration we feel for Trump is that he seems so definite about things. Our own politicians are so afraid to express their true feelings, we just don't know where they stand on important matters.
Also our government(s) just don't seem to care about this country or the wishes of the British people. Once they are in power, they follow their own personal agenda.
Our history, our culture, our traditions don't seem to matter to most of them.
Those of us who do care are sick of being ridiculed and condemned for complaining about the decline in everything. People who live in traditional English towns and villages are having foreign cultures forced on them, changing the whole atmosphere of our country.
We are sick of being ignored.
I have heard some absolutely passionate speeches across the years, from all parties, so I’m wondering if you missed them?
Both Sunak and Starmer gave great speeches just after the 2024 election was won by Starmer.
You can visibly see how proud our politicians are (most of them) at national events.
Our history and traditions do matter and are celebrated.
Those who appear to find migrants so offensive, I do hope you only eat British food, buy British goods, watch British TV etc etc etc
For me this country is so much richer in many ways due to migrants, I love all the different cultures, the different foods, the different languages, different religions.
I embrace our differences and our similarities.
We are all humans, even though not all of us are humane.
I can't stand the sight of the man.
I question his mentality, even in his 1st time round as president.
Apparently people who like Trump, don’t like Starmer, according to what I read upthread.
Not me, I like neither Trump nor Starmer.

I think the question should be why were the democrats so off putting that people would rather have voted for Trump.
Yes, I agree that is an important point. The Democrats left Biden in office too late, and there never really was the time to imbed Harris as a viable candidate ( if she ever was). I can see the attraction of a candidate who wants to put your country first, but I just cannot understand supporting a man who is prepared to dismiss the laws of your country if they do not suit him.
I am sorry if you think this is a 'thread with one aim' GG13, but over the past couple of weeks we have been bombarded with antagonistic and provocative threads criticising everything that Starmer has done, blaming for everything that has gone wrong, and many of those same posters have lauded Trump and said that they would like to see a leader with his 'qualities'. Surely it is not unreasonable that the Trump supporters share their reasons for this.
HPQ your opening post lists a few things and then challenges
So, which of these appeals to you?
I'm not a Trump supporter and definitely wouldn't want him or someone cast from the same mould here, but your OP isn't neutral or truly inviting reasoned answers from those who do and would. It's quite possible that even amongst his support group there are those that don't agree with any of the options you listed. I'm with GG13 that this thread, to my mind, was started with one aim and I don't believe it was to better understand why people think the way they do.
I was quite relieved last time that Trump wasn't able to fulfil all his crazy plans. Not so sure this time as he has a majority in both houses.
