I’m so glad they are being released and Hammas need to get a move in and release more and quickly, their poor families still have no idea who is alive still!

Good to hear of releases, I assumed the ratio was related to numbers detained by Israel?

Its very complicated but here are stats

'At the end of June 2024, the Israel Prison Service (IPS) was holding 9,440 Palestinians in detention or in prison on what it defined “security” grounds, including 1,761 from the Gaza Strip.
At that time, the IPS was also holding 1,526 Palestinians, 11 of them from the Gaza Strip, for being in Israel illegally"

GrannyGravy13 I don't understand the ratio either. It concerns me greatly. What are Hamas planning next? They are barbaric. I just hope and assume Israel do have plan once all the hostages are returned.

Four young women who have been held hostage by Hamas for 15 months have been released this morning. I dread to think what they have experienced during their captivity.

They are being exchanged for 200 Palestinian prisoners.

The BBC’s Middle East correspondent reported this morning that amongst the Palestinians there will be many convicted criminals who are being extradited to Countries who have agreed to accept them. They will not be allowed to remain in Gaza or the West Bank.

I cannot understand the ratio 4 - 200?
