Death is a leveller, how death comes is not
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
Four young women who have been held hostage by Hamas for 15 months have been released this morning. I dread to think what they have experienced during their captivity.
They are being exchanged for 200 Palestinian prisoners.
The BBC’s Middle East correspondent reported this morning that amongst the Palestinians there will be many convicted criminals who are being extradited to Countries who have agreed to accept them. They will not be allowed to remain in Gaza or the West Bank.
I cannot understand the ratio 4 - 200?

Picking a child out of its crib and smashing the child against a wall is an accident !
None of it is accidental is it, innocent babies who know nothing of being Israeli or Palestinian are being murdered. None of it is OK and constantly saying whatabout doesn't make it OK.

Any children in Gaza didn’t die or were injured by design which is the very opposite of the Israeli children who were murdered in cold blood by the Palestinians who joined hamas.
How was the 2 year old shot in the head and killed by IDF soldiers. Can't they aim or something.
You would need to know the exact circumstances of why and where and who the soldiers were firing at and if the bullet went through a wall.In any conflict accidents and mistakes are sadly made.
Contrast that with the Palestinians hamas who crept into bedrooms in the early hours and stabbed babies to death or grabbed them out of cots and dashed them against a wall.
Spot the difference?
Spot the similarity - dead baby.
Not true re elimination of all Palestinians, is true the desire to
eliminate all Jews
Their plan is to exterminate the Palestinians
You don’t know that.
Do we know that the child was a target?
If not, it was an accidental death, meaning unintentional.

Accidental death is simply not the same as murder Wyllow. The law certainly differentiates between the two.
But we all know it’s not nice whichever way a person dies.
How can shooting at a target ever be called accidental death...
Their plan is to exterminate the Palestinians..

Can't we just accept that neither is acceptable, there isn't a hierarchy of dead children?
No, can’t be done as the manner of those deaths are not equal and it’s important for people to realise that.

Whilst the killing of any child is absolutely heartbreaking, I agree with Oreo about the different scenarios.

If you have bombed areas that you have told people to move to, and ordinary civilians, women and children are killed, then it is, in my opinion, "by design". It was also by design that food and water was stopped from entering Gaza.
It has obviously been a terrible ordeal for the soldiers held as hostage. But it has also been a terrible ordeal for thousands of children who have been left with dreadful, life-changing injuries and no home to return to. Not to mention the thousands of children who have been killed.
quite..an absolute tragedy
I've heard the IDF investigating various things over the last 16 months. I never seem to hear the outcome.

It's hard to fathom isn't it? Israel places huge value on getting our hostages back, and I am sure that Hamas knows that, so they have huge leverage.
Back in 2011 Israel agreed to release over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for ONE Israeli captured soldier, Gilad Shalit.
One of those released was Ichya Sinwar. An arch terrorist and the architect of October 7th. While in Israeli prison for terrorist actions he became ill with a brain tumor and was treated and cured in an Israeli hospital.
There are those in Israel who argue against these massive prisoner releases in return for our hostages, the fear being that they will return to terror activities and so the vicious circle will continue.
But the vast majority want our hostages back, alive or dead, and are willing to pay the price.
How many terrorists should we agree to release in return for the bodies of little Ariel and Kfir Bibas, and their mother Shiri? Taken alive from their home on October 7th and now assumed dead.
It's heartbreaking, but I for one am pleased to see things finally moving in the right direction.

I thought no one was allowed to move into, or out of, Gaza.
Medical supplies are being restricted but people are allowed to move in and out of Gaza?
Doctors and some other people can apply for permits to enter or leave Gaza. The permits are strictly controlled by the Israelis and apparently difficult to obtain.
