We know what happened on Oct 7th- this was not perpetrated by the Palestinian children, mothers and grand-mothers. The ones who have suffered most.

Why did Netanyahu not listen to intelligence and warnings- why did he not use the highly sophisticated surveillance all along the fence, and highly sophisticated drones and VERY precise military equipement to stop the attack on October 7th. It would have been very possible. Why did he NOT?

I can assure you Netanyahu and the IDF don’t need people on forums in the UK acting as their PR machine! They have most of the Western world to do this- and support them, with massive amounts of bombs of all types to throw on Palestine.

Drugs are alleged to have played a part too in the October 7th attack. Some of the terrorists were allegedly high on Captagon, (phenethylline), probably produced in Syria. Captagon is addictive.

These extremely brave people risked their personal relationships and professional futures in order to expose the brutal and illegal acts they had witnessed being carried out by other IDF soldiers and often instigated by their commanders.

So Trump is doubling down on Gaza reiterating that the USA will “own” Gaza.

Who will he buy it from because as far as I can see it isn’t for sale.

Perhaps he means that he will invade Gaza, and the inhabitants driven out at the point of a gun?

Not aware that he has any support except from Netanyahu, who will undoubtedly benefit from this invasion, and which I assume will eventually incorporate it into Israel.

The West Bank will be the only fly left in the ointment now. So harassment, violence, arrests without trial, driving people from their land and illegal resettlement hadn’t worked yet.

They will no doubt come up with an imaginative plan before long and the Palestinians will have lost everything.

The massive problem here, is that Israelis, and the West in general, are not told both sides, only the Israeli side. And any information coming from the Palestinian side, even if by some of the most respected International humane Institutions, are just called out as 'lies'. Yes, just like it happened then.

An Israeli friend is most upset and disgusted today, as the bookshop she often visited, with intelligent, open-minded and erudite owners was raided, books confiscated and the owners arrested. For what? For telling the 'other' side, which Netanyahu does not want them to know. And of course, some here will say. Your friend tells lies, she is a traitor that can't be trusted. Of course, this is how it works. This is how it worked then. Only posting part of the post, as I would probably be banned for sharing the rest, and the replies (all from Israeli Jews btw, who are disgusted and ashamed of Netanyahu and the IDF, and what is being done in their name).

They haven’t been driven from Gaza, nor can I see it happening in reality.
Some may choose to leave others will have to live in makeshift accommodation until Gaza is rebuilt.
It’s a long way off just yet as Israel will not allow hamas to be there in any position of authority.
It isn’t over.

My preference (not that I have any influence or say) would have been for a two state solution. Unfortunately I think that is no longer possible.

Israel has been under attack for years from Hamas along with Hezbollah, hence the Iron Dome, and its citizens having safe rooms.

Has Netanyahu gone to far? In some instances he has.

Listening to my Jewish friends, they think there has to be a turning point where they and their fellow Jews are not continuously persecuted, butts of religious jokes and attacks.

I cannot put myself in the mindset of a race/religion who have known such horrors and persecution over centuries, I can only assume that 7/10/2-2023 was for them the final straw.

I didn't say that but I do believe state sponsored suppression of free speech (police sent in) a very dangerous path to take - and unnecessary except in the eyes of those (and only those, not all Israelis) who would follow a particular path.
