I am truly sad that it has come to this. For Gaza. For Ukraine. Sovereignty and human lives obviously mean nothing now. And for this reason other countries need to beware, this inexorable rise of fascism will need to be guarded against. Trump, Bibi, Putin. A new world order indeed.
I may be over egging the pudding but I can actually see it happening in real time. And I fear those who bury their heads in the sand, as many did in the 1930s, will suffer for it.
We will all suffer from it. I am 74 and have had an amazing, very full and happy life. But I so fear for the next generation. Our grandchildren finishing school and some at University, with a whole life ahead of them and very aware of the dangers.

I agree. Is depressing me so much these days. To think that the freedoms our parents fought so hard for in WW2 and the freedoms our generation fought for on the streets and in parliament, will have to be fought for all over again.

Anti Semitism is on the rise here. Vile graffiti, burning synagogues in Sydney and Melbourne and that is just the beginning. It is disgusting that they let people march around waving flags ,saying they want to annihilate Israelis. I’m not Jewish but I would be very,very afraid just to go about my day to day life if I was. This in a country that welcomed Jewish refugees once upon a time.

Well in the US schools in Utah can apparently display the Nazi flag, and Trump and his cronies all have alt right associations, and the alt right are known for being anti Semitic, Musks parents were Nazi sympathisers and Vance has made anti semitic remarks in the past.
They make the anti semitism in Corbyn’s day look like a Sunday school picnic and am not in any way dismissing it it’s saying that right now, with fascism on the rise we are due some very dark days.
Bibi is effectively cosying up to his worst nightmare in other circumstances.

One they're the only USA-orientated state in the region.
Two is more inflamatory, but the Holocaust also signals "no-one can criticize Israel" in the West. This despite Jewish people being only one of the Nazi-persecuted groups (by far the most awful persecution admittedly) & that it was UK, commonwealth, USA & free french who actually defeated the Nazi regime.
IMO Israel should be treated as any other sovereign state, both for moral reasons & for the long-term stability of the region.

A Jewish man in Miami Beach was arrested Sunday and charged with two counts of attempted murder, a day after opening fire at a car in which he said he saw “two Palestinians” inside.
However, police said that the victims were actually two Jewish Israelis visiting the US. The victims, Ari Rabey and his father, initially thought they were being targeted in an antisemitic attack..
Mordechai Brafman, 27, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder after he shot at the car 17 times with a semiautomatic handgun on Saturday.
Police said there was no altercation between Brafman and the two victims before the shooting, which they described as unprovoked, reports said.
According to the arrest sheet, Brafman said that while he was driving his truck, “he saw two Palestinians and shot and killed both.”
So a trigger happy US citizen has mistakenly shot and injured two Israeli holidaymakers.
That has no bearing on Gaza.Just very unfortunate for the two men on holiday.
Can we now expect every report of every shooting in America ?
This is not the case of any American shooting any tourists.
It is about spreading hate, against one group or another. The American happened to be a Jew, and he happened to want to shoot two men, point blank, because he thought he looked like Palestinians.

If a 'Palestinian/arab' American had shot two men because they looked Jewish, point blank- what would you say.
