I read the report about the posters on the tube and tonight it was possibly fake news in doing my fact checking on this matter I went down a rabbit hole and read a number of articles on Sadiq Khan.
It got me thinking as to how GNetters living/working in London viewed him.

You pointed out in an earlier post there had been three other threads on this matter in as many months.

I have 2 daughters and 3 gc in London who walk to school/nursery every day close to at least one busy road. They say the air quality has massively improved and more than makes up for the inconvenience of some ULEZ restrictions.
For that alone and their sake I give him a big 👍

London has always been pretty cosmopolitan and of course there are a myriad of different ethnic cultures which are not by any means a homogeneous mass. What is apparent, whatever ethnic group people may belong to, there is a propensity to move out into the suburbs of Greater London and beyond as people prosper, that was certainly the case with the immigrant strands of my own family. Mainly because people feel too packed together and unfortunately the high level of crime as it is now is also a factor. London has its wealthy enclaves, but to live there housing costs a lot. A fair proportion of the poorer parts that are home to different demographics tend to be Labour held, so it's unsurprising that they would vote for a Labour Mayor. Most London Boroughs are Labour held.

My three children all live in London. They are happy with Khan and voted for him.

I don't think he's a bad mayor apart from the ULEZ decision which affected a lot of my neighbours and family drastically and i include myself in that. Has it made a big difference? I'm not sure it has.

I also have noticed the various derogatory posts about London and its Mayor recently. I vote for Sadiq Khan, as do my family who live in London. The improvement during Khan's tenure as Mayor that I am most grateful for is that my life as a pedestrian has been made far more pleasant by the Mayor's traffic calming measures.

London had loads of ethnic minorities when Johnson was voted in, I don't get your point, unless you believe they are somehow less capable of making voting decisions? Also as if they were "all the same background" which is simply not the case

London is home to the largest number of ethnic minorities in the UK so that has a lot of bearing on it, when it comes to voting.

Rula Johnson was mayor of London twice. He did not stand after that.
It's interesting to see non Londoners with such a visceral dislike for someone who has little impact on their daily life.
