No. He has done nothing which makes me confident that the future of America or the world is safe in his hands, quite the contrary.

I’m not a Trump fan at all, but I have to say that deporting many foreign criminals must make communities safer. I wish we’d do the same. We still have a convicted child abuser living and working here over ten years (that’s approximate, it might be more) since he was released from prison, and the judge said when sentencing him that he should be deported when he had served his sentence. He was one of the ring leaders of one the ‘grooming gangs’ in the news recently. I cannot see how British society, or women and girls, are safer whilst he is still here.

Trump’s unique style takes a little getting used to but his offer to rebuild Gaza into some luxury holiday destination does make me think. If I lived there and I had the opportunity to be rehoused when my blitzed country was being rebuilt, would I take the opportunity? Or would I return to nothing and the strong likelihood of more fighting and bloodshed? What sort of future, if any could I envisage for future generations? More genocide or Disneyland Gaza?
No other politician so far has highlighted the acute dilemma in Gaza in this way but whether it works out is anyone’s guess. At least Trump thought about it.

Seriously, he isn’t talking about a kind tidy move to a nearby country. Jordan and Egypt don’t want Hamas infiltrating and destabilising. They’re also already absorbing thousands of refugees from Lybia, Syria the Lebanon and more.
Trump isn’t suggesting the Palestinians return to their homeland once he’s turned it into a gambling/drinking Las Vegas kind of place. He wants them banished. It’s astonishing to think this much less say it out loud.
