Farage. Well he’s Top of the Pops right now! 😂

This tonight, from the ‘i’ newspaper (that I also now subscribe to, not just The Telegraph!) ….

“Nigel Farage stood up at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday to hostile silence. Squashed together in the Commons, MPs from other parties glowered at him, and then delighted as he appeared to fluff his lines when asking a question about the Chagos Islands.

Behind the scenes it is a different story, with individual MPs from other parties queuing up to ask the Reform UK leader to sign House of Commons wine bottles and drinks coasters for family members and constituents who are fans of his brand of straight-talking populism. It’s not clear whether those MPs acknowledge the cognitive dissonance involved.

There’s no doubt Reform is having a moment. On average, the last half-dozen polls have put the party on 25 per cent, putting it equal first with Labour. Three of those polls put the party in the lead, either solely or in tandem with Labour.

It’s causing tangible jitters among both Labour and Conservative MPs. At PMQs, Farage accused them of “panic.”

This week a group of around 40 Labour MPs from “Red Wall” seats in the north of England called for Sir Keir Starmer to send a stronger message on immigration as they seek to see off the threat from Farage and his crew ahead of local elections in May.

Behind the scenes, other Labour MPs have requested training sessions from No 10 on how to deal with Reform in their areas. “It really troubles them,” a Labour source said.”

C’mon REFORM!

Posters do disappear and do not have to come back to explain why. Or may decide they have had enough of being metaphorically battered.

Farage is a clear Traitor- and has been working against the country for a very long time.

But now, he will have to come clean and make a clear choice. In a world conflict, will he support Trump and Putin, or the UK and its European Allies and neighbours.

I once knew someone who was imprisoned for leaking sensitive documents threatening national security.

Do you think Farage is in fact a traitor and should be charged under the Official Secrets Act, Claremont?

The reason some are asking where FGT2 is - is because this was her thread, very 'goady' some would say- and she has not come back at all. Fair question.

Other posters start what might be termed goady threads too.

This one didn't seem particularly goady as it's not FriedGreenTomatoes's style to goad posters, she just posts what she believes in. Other posters might dislike her views but that, as they say, is life.

She'll be pleased to know so many posters are concerned about her whereabouts and welfare, I'm sure.

FGT likes to light the touch paper, then sits back and watches the fireworks. It’s what she doesconfused

Nobody has ownership of a thread simply because they started it. Goady or not, OPs frequently seek (as you yourself have done) to stimulate discussion - not to dominate it.
(I understood the “Where is FGT ?” was actually on the “other” Nigel Farage thread, but I may be wrong)

‘Lying Reform MP Rupert Lowe has been called out for this photo that he claimed was of food left by a migrant in a hotel when someone who works for M&S pointed out that the smoothie in the picture stopped being sold by them FIVE YEARS AGO!
If he can so casually lie about this, what else is he lying about?’

This is what happens when a Reform MP is paid £1,000 an hour by Musk to tweet abuse about migrants.

Not sure how you worked that out. According to my back of an envelope calculation, Rupert Lowe did 28 hours of work for X and was paid £12,462. Still! £260 an hour (received in less than two months) isn't bad when it's on top of all the day jobs. Wonder what he actually did.

Well, Farage is not Top of My Pops, and never will be!

Each to their own grin

You have to laugh.

"A supermarket chain has complained to a Reform UK councillor after he posted pictures of himself cutting a ribbon at the opening of a new store.

Last week David Thomas said on social media that he had "officially" opened a new Lidl in Cwmbran, posing alongside store workers, and two other Reform councillors.

But the discount supermarket said no official ribbon cutting took place and no formal invitations had been issued. Thomas' post was later deleted.

Thomas made headlines earlier this week when it emerged he was listed as a composer on songs that include crude language about women.

Reform claimed that he did not create the songs. Labour called the lyrics "misogynistic" and said he should resign.

It’s worth watching A Different Bias political commentary from earlier today which covers some senior Tories turning against Trump and the widening divide between them and Reform. A lot of really good points made, including the parallels between the cocked up withdrawal from Afghanistan when Trump was in power last time, and his behaviour now.

any articles on it, Casdon?

Search ‘Tories Starting To Turn On Trump’ from A Different Bias on YouTube Wyllow3. I didn’t attach it because it refers on the front heading to an alleged conversation between a Tory Whip and Lee Anderson which would offend some people.

An MP is paid by Musk to lie on X? I am appalled.
Surely this is a disciplinary matter?

The number of hours he's paid for to post on X by Musk - its grim.

Until Musk falls out with him as he has Farage.
