I didn’t know Trump was running for leadership of the UK. That’s news to me.

How’s the election going in Australia then?

I always think every three years is a tad excessive - and of course Australia has its own murky past and present regarding the original people.

There is certainly a good deal of underlying racism isn’t there?

what makes me even so much more angry, worried and sick- is that so many support them, admire them, want them as leaders. Some right here, on GN.

It’s actually beyond belief and I feel the exactly the same as you! 😢😢

Yes, and I meant the U.K. not USA .

I can remember a time when I simply could not understand how Hitler achieved what he did, because I couldn’t believe that anyone living in a civilised country would give legitimacy to such behaviour.

Now I understand😢😢

What behaviour?
I do wish posters wouldn’t keep bringing Hitler into every debate on forums.
There’s nothing in the UK to compare to Germany in the 30’s even if one of two posters keep trying to make out there is.

I wasn’t talking about the U.K. - what on earth brought you to that conclusion.

I am echoing what is being said by such people as 5 star generals, experienced politicians and academics in the USA .

I’m not convinced that you know better than them.

I haven't even looked at his antics today. It was nice to feel normal for a few hours.

The Democrats need to be working out who to support for the next election even tho it’s four years off.Somebody younger, dynamic with a clean background and male as I don’t think the US are ready for a woman as President just yet.

The next election in the UK is over four years away. I am convinced that things in this country will improve with the current government. Did we really think that six months was long enough for the 14 year nightmare left by the Tories to be dealt with? By 2029 I’m hoping that Reform and others of their ilk will be a mere footnote in this country’s history.

I would expect trump’s actions to get worse. While half of America are reeling and shellshocked, I hope the Democrats are making plans. America and indeed the rest of the world, cannot allow trump and his little friends to drag the world down to their level.

He’s President in the US not here, and whatever you or I think of him, millions and millions of US citizens preferred him to Kamala Harris.

Churchview, you made me laugh when most of this makes me want to cry ( or scream)

It feels like we are witnessing the start of something truly horrible.

If Reform with the next election the UK will become a pound shop version of Trump's America.

Has anyone watched the BBC documentary called The Elon Musk Show.. It is a 4 part series about how he developed all his businesses and shows an alarming change in his personality at the end,,
There is also a Channel 4 programme called Can Elon Musk Rule The World.. They are both extremely disturbing because Donald Trump seems to share his new vision.. And has enabled him to have billions of government funding...

Well worth watching..

I wonder what it would take for his supporters in this country to consider that he had crossed the line?

After the capital riots I fear that there is nothing he can do to make any of his followers supporting him.

I’m just watching Channel 4 news and it simply seems Trump, Vance and Musk can literally do anything at all they like.

Anyone who thinks this is fine and isn’t scared sh****ss is frankly deranged!

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 08-Feb-25 17:36:14

I have seen a cartoon in which a chortling Kim Il Jong declares " Hee hee, so now I'm no longer the weirdest leader of a country.."

Honestly, I don’t think anyone could make this up.
