84 candidates in Cornwall, they tell people what they want to hear ( or so it seems ) not sure what will happen if they actually get to power in the Cornish Councils.

I wonder if they will field the same number in the rest of the U.K. ?

Pity Farage didn't think about Farmers more when he was driving Brexit through. Brexit had and continues to have a huge negative impact on farmers and farming.

Very well said and thank you for laying out the actual facts. Farage sees a chance to get his face yet again on the telly and pretends to care about farmers and some farmers are daft enough to believe him, he's using them like he uses everyone. If he cared about farmers he wouldn't have supported Brexit.

Also, when he was an MEP Farage had a gift of an opportunity to make huge positive impact on British farming. Instead he rarely attended the European parliament and on the few occasions he did he he made a complete fool of himself and our country by association.

When he has the chance to actually do some work and represent the people who voted for them he does nothing. The man's all for show and division.

I have no argument with that, but if owner farmers sellup, the land will be bought up by commercial land owners and farmed by them

so the slogan NO FARMERS NO FOOD is patently incorrect, and if farmers are going to campaign thye need to get their facts right.

Won't a lot of land end up being built on or turned into solar power farms?

Farmland sold to pay IHT won’t necessarily be farmed by the purchaser MOnica. It may be used as whatever ‘set aside’ is now called, or as Rula says used for solar power.

I hope we won’t see productive agricultural land used for building Rula, but with this government’s crazy mandatory building targets nothing would surprise me.

If Farage cares about farming as much as he did about fishing when he was in the EU parliament then the farmers shouldn't get too excited.

It is absolutely correct. If the land is not built on who will farm this commercially owned land?
Farmers - or will they just think that farming is a mug's game and refuse? Who could blame them?

So - who will farm this commercially owned farmland then?

I've been watching with interest what has been happening in other countries with recent disasters such as fires and floods. Unless we have food security then we are in peril.
