Luminance
I think it is important to understand that the devastation that surrounds such a tragedy is separate to the understanding of how such tragedies are used to sway public opinion politically. In fact it would be rather easy to say that using the tragedy to further any cause, one against helping refugees for example, is actually less empathetic to the families involved.
I agree. In the rush to politicise these dreadful incidents, the victims sometimes get overlooked I feel. I mentioned in another thread that I did not see threads started when the white Swedish national shot down 12 migrants at a language learning centre.
these murders are all awful, but some people, in their rush to blame migration, highlight the incidents where the perpetrator is a migrant.
We have to look at why these dreadful incidents are happening, and also acknowledge that mental health services are on their knees, meaning that there are too many people on their own, battling with their mental health demons, endangering us all, irrespective of their skin colour, religion, or where they or their parents were born.
