USA dealings with Russia and Farage

Farage was one of the principal people to persuade people to vote Brexit, splitting UK with the EU. He cosied up to the USA and supported Trump’s election. Additionally, Farage is hoping to have money from the USA to back his party in the UK . Considering, what Trump has done by having his team talk to Russia and suggesting to cut up Ukraine as well as taking the rights of ‘rare earth’. What is Farage doing with his US friends? I haven’t heard anything from him yet. What would you hope he will do?

Farage loves to spread ignorance, -even though he knows the truth. He continues to do so because it works!

Wyllow3 Thu 20-Feb-25 13:43:35

Well Farage has just spoken...and said virtually nothing, in fact has backed Trump

. It's from the Sky news timeline just out.

"Zelenskyy 'not a dictator' - but should set 'timeline' for elections in Ukraine

Nigel Farage has said Volodymyr Zelenskyy is "not a dictator" after being criticised for not speaking out against Donald Trump's attacks on Ukraine's president, but does think there should be a "timeline" for elections in the war-torn country.

A fine example of saying virtually nothing at all, as it completely avoids major issues ,

and actually repeats the Trump myth that Zelensky's remaining in power under extreme war is internationally legally wrong in some way

Farage has expressed his admiration of both Putin and Trump.

Given that Farage is a British MP, I think that we are entitled to expect an explanation, and whether he still agrees with Putin and Trump, and if he does so one must query his loyalty and patriotism.

I quite agree Whitewavemark2, I'm horrified by what Trump is saying and if Farage or any other of our MP's still admire him I want to know.
Maybe someone will ask when Parliament is back next week and Farage is back from holiday.
I can't believe what I'm hearing from Trump

BevSec I am pretty sure that all the people on here calling anyone that questions all the immigration, as being racists, would not dream of going to bed before locking their doors.

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 20-Feb-25 13:31:43

To be fair, it's hard to accuse Mr Farage for overworking for his constituency...

MaggsMcG Thu 20-Feb-25 13:30:24

Od be more interested in what our current PM and his party are doing. I hope to goodness he/they are not toadying up to Trump. The man's a disaster and a danger to the rest of the free World. I'm literally scared of what he's trying to do.

I've seen anger and frustration but not hatred upthread.

It's in the eye of the beholder and their political view - applause for hatred against "people who aren't indigenous" and so on.

In this thread some of us are angry that Reform are not speaking up against a tyrant, is all.

I have not seen any hatred expressed for people who arent indigenous, there is no racism as far as I can see, just a real and justified worry about the waves of illegal immigration and how it will change our country and Europe as well. That is a completely different kettle of fish, but is labelled as being racist and this is what has happened to Nigel Farage.

I wish that he, Trump, Elon Musk, J.D. Vance and Putin would just fade away .....

Do you not understand the concept of venting anger in a safe environment love0c? It’s the people who aren’t angry enough to join in the condemnation of what’s happening that I’m more concerned about.

Anyone heard from Farage, Tice or the rest of Reform lately?

All gone quiet whilst they try to work out a good excuse for Trumps behaviour.

Make the most of it - it won’t last

Especially as Farage has constant l banged on about his friendship with Trump. Wonder if Truss is still over there supporting him? Thank goodness we now have a PM who has been working tirelessly to heal the rifts with Europe that Brexit caused. What was that question that Truss was asked ‘Macron, friend or foe’ at which she sniggered. I think there are several politicians that have nailed their sails to the wrong mast over the past few years.

I would like to see Farage, Trump, Vance and Musk lined up over the next expected sink hole and hope it opens up all the way to hell.

😂 I'll help to push them in with pitchforks.

Oh thanks for that petra I really appreciate that only British people are allowed to comment on here and I think it might be time to go. I am shocked and surprised at your xenophobia , frankly. I will not reply to any more of your posts.

Hey we are not all as rude as Petra in her reply to you. Don’t let that put you off.
Am afraid threads like this can bring out the worst in people
Your opinions are as valid as anyone else’s.

Why do we never hear from the LibDems these days? Or have I missed something? They have more seats that Reform.

Yes they have more seats, with a lower voting count. First past the post anomaly. Still Lib Dems have always been a nonentity, always will be.

Just remind me how many MP's the LibDems have got compared to Reform? Imo the LibDems have always been the voice of reason in British politics and still are. Far more relevant than Trump worshiping Farage and is handful of MP's...

Who says most Britons detest or dislike Trump. It seems to me that is not true. A lot admire his stand on immigration, borders, gender, transwomen in sport and would like to see that here. What is concerning for Europe and UK is his policy on trade tariffs and this latest intervention with Ukraine although he wants to keep out of Europe. Yes we all want to see the war ended but not this way. For once Boris Johnstone and Starmer agree about something.

I don’t agree.

Despite Reform crowing about their ever-increasing popularity, it’s still a very small part of our political system.

It seems those who support Reform generally also support Trump, which in effect means they also support Vance, Musk and Putin.

This “unholy” alliance can only end in tears, possibly dragging us all along with them.

We, in the UK, have, through ignorance and in some cases sheer stupidity, have cut ourselves off from our closest allies, and now have little or no clout with anyone.
