So many people seem to be missing the point. Supporting Reform UK is not about Farage or Richard Tice or anyone else. It's about the public having a way to show their unhappiness with the current political parties. Our country is being destroyed and we want the government to realise that and start putting Britain and British people first.

so you want to scupper the country, and throw it under the Putin and Trump bus- to 'show your unhappiness.

Well, I am sure this will improve things loads. Sure:

Reform U.K. is only one of many extreme right-wing pockets springing up all over Europe . This happened in the 1930s when we had our own , homegrown, Oswald Mosely .
The situation now is very similar to preWW2 .

That is so similar to Trump’s platform, Make America Great Again. He has sent many Mexicans back to Mexico so farmers don’t have the workers to harvest their goods. USA businesses on the USA border with Canada have no business. Health care is problematic and unemployment is rising.

Do you honestly want to see an American health care system here where every time you go to the GP even if you have medical insurance? I could go on and on about this but I’m not going to.

We are too good at complaining and not active enough in our politics.

Very true.
Is no good simply jumping on the populist band wagon because the snake oil salesman driving it tells people what they want to hear. I could take the platform and swear that I will send all illegal immigrants back, there will be no more boats, or WOKEY types, and I will make Britain great again. See, I just said it, now vote for me.
As a nation we are rubbish at taking to the streets and demanding change, we used to be good at it in the 60s/70s, and it led to parliament legislating on things that mattered, passing the sex discrimination act, the race discrimination act and legalising homosexuality. So we can change things, but its not good sitting here moaning about it, and at the same time callling all demonstrations a waste of time peopled by hippes and students.
We shouldn't ever trust politicians. We should never stop putting pressure on them to do what they are paid to do which is to represent us.

Nothing mokryna to be honest. Farage is fairly low in Americans perspective right now since we are dealing with Musk and Trump.

mum2three It sounds as if you'd welcome a Trump figure here, to make Britain Great Again....

mokryna Tue 18-Feb-25 17:56:44

I hope Farage goes away, very far away, perhaps the US to be with best bud Trump, am sure that Trump has by now forgotten who Nige is but he might need someone to carry his golf clubs

Don't make me be cross. 🤣

Just kidding. Send him over at this point. We have nothing left to lose.

If Farage left, support for Reform would sink into an abyss though, so it must be down to reasons other than what you suggest.

If only Babs03.
I was hoping, as he wanted to lead the UK and had Trump’s ear, he would hop in a plane to whisper some good for Ukraine in that orifice.

How is he going to persuade white (presumably not brown, black or those with "foreign" ancestry) to reproduce? Especially those who are married and presumably guaranteed to stay married until their children are adults. Are the fathers of children whose parents aren't married also "deviations from the norm"? Are you we turning into a Handmaidens' Republic?

According to the Financial Times Farage has spent today making an appearance at the 'right-leaning Alliance for Responsible Citizenship 'conference. He's been talking to Jordan Peterson on the subject of how important it is to increase the UK birth rate. Farage proposed "very, very big cultural changes to persuade Britons to have children".

So basically he's parroting his pals Trump and Musk.

During their conversation Jordan Peterson described divorcees, single mothers and gay people as “deviations from the norm”.

What would you hope he will do?

Retire quietly.

Farage was one of the principal people to persuade people to vote Brexit, splitting UK with the EU. He cosied up to the USA and supported Trump’s election. Additionally, Farage is hoping to have money from the USA to back his party in the UK . Considering, what Trump has done by having his team talk to Russia and suggesting to cut up Ukraine as well as taking the rights of ‘rare earth’. What is Farage doing with his US friends? I haven’t heard anything from him yet. What would you hope he will do?
