It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
Ramy Abdul oJuc Goly Breaking: Statements by the Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Knesset: "*Palestinians in Gaza are outcasts, and no one in the world wants them. Women and children should be separated, and adults should be eliminated*."

Good grief, experienced the Holocaust
You think they should have learned a lesson ? There is no Holocaust, where are the gas chambers ? The Jews were not
raping, killing, they are defending against terrorists
I am shocked that anyone can compare, simply a case of denial
And the Jews experienced the Holocaust! How can they do the same to others ?
I wasn't going to print it out in full unless someone has no access to looking it up as its long and comprehensive

Thank you Wyllow
Yes, this is completely different Annie - that was a feature article they wrongly bought from another company.
This is a news item - press all have had full access to all the events/photos
and there are full quotes from both Palestinians and the IDF themselves a representation of different POV. The IDF describe it themselves.
We cannot any longer deny that West Bank settlement of Palestinian land is both significant and provocative.
The BBC last week released the video ‘Gaza how to survive
A war zone’, then had to withdraw it, can it be trusted !
I tried to look into this further.
In May 2023 the Jersusalem Post reported that the West Bank had just over half a million Israeli residents and the local mayor reported follows:
"“Shlomo Neeman, mayor of the Gush Etzion Regional Council and chairman of the Yesha Council, said: “The region is flourishing and thriving with 150 communities, among which are four cities, a magnificent university, tourist centers, and high tech industries. Real estate developers are increasingly investing in and developing the region, attesting to the high demand”
"Neeman continued: "Unfortunately, even after 25 years, and with more than half a million residents, we are prisoners of a military administration whose actions do not correspond with the reality on the ground. We will continue to work with the present governments with the aim of adapting to the changes and maintaining the momentum of construction, and the development of roads and infrastructure in the area for our dear residents and for all of Israel.”
I presume the mayor meant local West Bank authorities weren't accepting settlement as they would like?
However, the situation has turned to one of Israel now actively sending troops in and clearing out Refugee camps on the West Bank and imposing Israeli Law. Its recorded in this full BBC report from yesterday
"“It'll be a disaster': Uncertainty for thousands forced from West Bank camps by Israeli raids”.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g039ergplo
Meanwhile Ganz and other people in the government are supporting the complete taking over of the West Bank as part of Israel quite openly.
(btw, the BBC article has a very good map and I know this is not strictly on topic but whoever drew up the boundaries for Israel and Palestine were setting a course for disaster from the outset!)

That action, in creeping building work in the WestBank by Israeli settlers isn’t being checked in my view as it acts as a buffer zone.It isn’t right to be building houses there ( and it’s the last place I’d want to live).
Thank you for your honesty in this - ie it isn't right to be building houses there.
If you look at at maps, it's gone well, well beyond a buffer zone, and settlements are protected by tanks now.

The contentious issue that I feel is not answered, is should it be right for Israel to slowly advance and take over chunks of the West Bank - surely this is "Action" not kept in check?
I was answering this post above.

If this is as you have posted, I am appalled, and utterly lost for words.
Up till now I have supported Israel’s right to defend its citizens and to attack those who wish to destroy or harm them.
Human beings having equal worth wherever / to whomoever they are born, if you support Israel's rights to attack those who wish to destroy them, you presumably support palestinian's right to attack those who wish to destroy them too.
Hamas do have a long-standing objective to see all of "historic Palestine" back in palestinian hands. But about 10 years ago they modified that (they know realistically it will never happen). Their interim objective, that they have been working for in recent years, is for palestinians to hold east jerusalem, gaza and the west Bank free of israeli occupation. The UN has always agreed (in word if not in deed) with this objective.
People take "from the river to the sea" as chanted by palestiains, as a desire for Israeli genocide. I don't think it is, it's certainly not as explicit as Rami Abdul Gomi's rant.
The west bank is on the river, Gaza is on the sea & they want them to be free.
Why would they want to do so ?
The contentious issue that I feel is not answered, is should it be right for Israel to slowly advance and take over chunks of the West Bank - surely this is "Action" not kept in check?
It matters to me what is said because so much is the same as in Germany in the 30’s , people wanted to believe Jews were the cause of financial worries, not true but fed over years then
gas chambers
I think it's becoming increasingly clear that Israel will clear the West Bank of Palestinians, release prisoners back to Gaza and then renew bombing.. with the explicit aim of destroying Gaza and all within it.. I don't think there will be a next phase in the peace agreement.. and certainly not a two state solution.
Why cant we accept that in war, especially with the complex history of this one, both "sides" have done things that can be criticised?
And accept that, work with it, not by retreating into
"but its all the other sides fault"?
Time and time again I have made it absolutely clear that I cannot support Hamas's actions yet do have concerns for the innocents in Gaza, and I support the right of the State of Israel to exist in peace but cannot condone all its actions?
and the answer to the latter is "but Hamas........etc etc
It doesn’t matter to me what any poster says, whether false accusations of being an apologist or anything else but it is worrying when a poster Whitewavemark2 in this instance now says she doesn’t think Jews should have their own state, granted this is one poster only but it’s exactly what hamas and most Palestinians think and say.
Imagine if England were Israel, Scotland was Lebanon and Wales was Gaza. One night extremists who also were the governing body from Wales crossed the border and cruelly massacred over a thousand English people and took over two hundred as hostages back to Wales. At the same time extremists in Scotland got busy with missiles and bombarded England in sympathy with Wales. That’s after years of both Wales and Scotland committing hostile acts towards England. Can you imagine not only the actions of us here in England against these countries but the harsh words in Parliament against them. When the government in Wales said constantly that every English person needed wiping from the planet.
There is a right wing extreme view from some, a very few, in the Israeli government that goes too far in their views and language but as long as that is kept in check in action that’s what matters.

Hamas and supporters are the true monsters.
Yes Oreo very few here believe it, a post criticising Israel is met with much agreement. A post criticising Hamas which is a
Palestine terrorist group is met with ‘Yes But’
Or between Hamas and Netanyahu which is not true
A monster is a monster Oreo whether they be Hamas or Netanyahu.
Hamas and supporters are the true monsters.
I asked for proof of the following allegation
Quote Whitewavemark2 Wed 26-Feb-25 11:57:05
A cease and desist letter has been issued to Netanyahu by the murdered mother and children’s family because he going against their express wishes by showing graphic pictures of the little ones bodies.
He is a monster.
You want proof of Netanyahu showing pictures of the family who have specifically asked him to cease and desist?
Here is the photo of him doing just that in the Times of Israel first google search not some false accusation.
Its disgusting. Look for yourself.
www.timesofisrael.com/bibas-family-tells-netanyahu-to-shut-up-as-he-details-the-murders-of-shiri-ariel-and-kfir/
"Publishing unapproved information is ‘abuse for its own sake,’ says Ofri Bibas, hours after Netanyahu publicly gives graphic details for 2nd time this week despite family’s request"
Cossy
Well, he’s a lovely man!
Nothing new there, the Israeli govt (not the people) are as bad as Hamas. Both want to entirely wipe out the others population. Disgusting!
Yes, many of us know this. But many do not believe us- but when this is said in The House, by the Deputy Speaker, so high ranking politician, and Netanyahu and others just do not stop him, do not counter him, and just silence, then it is hard to refute.
