I was very encouraged by his speech. The Democrats reacted like sulky children.

There are no excuses.

Or political need to do this.

It's just 240.000 people - and returning home at the point where it's safe. I hope churches and communities will rally round.

Gosh that's pretty small considering the population of the US is over 340 million and they have the second largest population of immigrants of Ukrainian descent. Canada had nearly 300,000 with a tiny population in comparison.

What’s Farage got to do with it?
I read 240,000 Ukrainians live in USA.
Maybe King Charles could have a friendly phone call?

He’s very much Trumps “pal” The few Reform supporters on here also appear to admire Trump.

Reform in the USA is described as a far right party modelling itself on Trump’s MAGA.

Has anybody watched A Different Bias on YouTube today, he is talking about the latest YouGov poll on Trump, and Reform supporters condemning his actions, which means Farage is out of time with his voters because he isn’t condemning him. Interesting times.

I also read it was 240,000 Ukrainians there as a direct result of the war.

Farage is up to his neck with what is going on in USA and Russia! He is a traitor.

Why don't those so voluble in their love for him, pop on and explain?

Why indeed! I’ve also notice Farage supporters appear to have gone very quiet too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Canada has quite a large established Ukrainian population who went over to Canada to work in the farming and dairy industry in the late 19th century. Hopefully, Canada's doors will be open to them. Trump is an absolute b.......d isn't he? How on earth could anyone support him?

Yes, top response!

I'm just reeling from the news other thread that Trump is now saying he's going to revoke the Ukrainian asylum seekers who already have permission to be in USA.

I could weep.

words fail.

😭 😡😡😡

What will Europe do- offer to take them in? And the UK? Canada?

Where will they go?

Never heard of this when will it commence?

If you are referring to the speech in the title, it happened several days ago, and was only inspiring to his inner circle.

If it was something else, I think you have to be more specific, as discussions move around to other topics.

Very interesting article from CNN today about global realisation that - Trump doesn’t actually have a plan.

I’ve been thinking back to how worried some of us were at the thought of Sarah Palin being vice president a few years ago. It pales into insignificance when I think of what we’ve actually got in The White House now!

Oh yes “the tea party” I’d forgotten about her.

I wake up each morning dreading what Trump or Putin will do next to make the lives of Ukrainians even more precarious. Zelensky must be on his knees with exhaustion. He is a brave man fighting for his country.

I would quite happily lock up Putin and Trump/Vance and let them experience the horrors Putin has inflicted on the likes of Alexei Navalny and other freedom fighters.

ronib Thu 06-Mar-25 15:46:36

Or one alternative view, not necessarily mine, is that Trump wants to step away from the conflict completely? It gives full protection to the USA in the event of an escalation to nuclear war. For such a dumb idiot, Trump does have some saving grace for his own people? If not the rest of the world!

Iam64 Thu 06-Mar-25 15:40:15

I read that news Wyllow3. He never ceases to shock, deliberately and with no concern for the harm and instability he causes

No please say this isn’t true.
Every day I feel more anxious about hearing the news.
I imagine this is because Trump’s nose is out of joint with Zelenskyy being given such a warm reception in the UK and Europe.
He is beyond vile 😡😡

It’s not in the scheme of things the most important issue for anyone in the UK. I hope with 350 million people in the USA some workable healthcare system cuts through. It could be the catalyst for a better and fairer healthcare economy. It’s upto you guys to push for it. We have our struggles with the NHS.

It's up to us what we take an interest in or consider important I think GN's are quite capable of discussing both in different contexts.

Thinking cutting over 800 billion dollars from Medical schemes could result in

"the catalyst for a better and fairer healthcare economy".

Really?

Elissa Slotkin covered that very well in the democratic response, which was described in the O/P as "sulky" - a typical Trumpian put down like "nasty words". She was the grown up in the room.
