Correction - reins him in to some extent

That is very heartening Syracute, though I think Trump can still do, and has done, considerable damage. But this at least reins him in on to some extent.

I would like to add that judges are finding many of his actions not legal and ruling against him. Including the Supreme Court .
There are many more lawsuits up for decisions . Trump is realizing that he can make all sorts of proclamations but he is indeed not king !

Just a little aside...do watch the video...not without moment of humour.

‘I’m getting Nazi salutes from Subarus’: Tesla drivers targeted by anti-Elon Musk sentiment - Elon Musk’s role as government hatchet man is complicating the public’s perception of Tesla. Shares are under pressure and some drivers are ditching their Teslas. Others say they are being targeted as they drive around

Whenever I see a backlash from the ordinary people in the US I feel uplifted. Not everyone voted for this job lot of alt right numptys. And even some of those who did are becoming disillusioned.

Gawd, what an utter mess. Trump is truly an idiot!

Here is the full Beeb report on the clashes

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpwd1722yr2o

"Trump's Thursday Truth Social post, however, appears to give department heads more authority to push back against Musk.

It also may be an attempt to insulate the Trump administration from lawsuits that allege Musk is wielding too much power for someone who, unlike cabinet secretaries, is not subject to Senate review and confirmation”.

"As the secretaries learn about, and understand, the people working for the various departments, they can be very precise as to who will remain, and who will go," he wrote, adding that they should use a "scalpel" not a "hatchet.

I sincerely hope that the orange yo-yo's string breaks!

Trump doesn't care about Musk- he used him and his money to get elected and now Musk is becoming unpopular and losing money hand over fist. He rocket fell out of the sky quite literally (reminds me of Icarus) and his shares are free falling. If Trump begins to see him as a loser then Musk will go like so many others before him.

Personally, I can't wait until both their faces disappear from our screens...

Trump's behaving like Trump ie there's no way of knowing what he'll say or do next. I now refer to him as the orange yo-yo. He's creating chaos and instability both in America and Internationally, I can't see Musk being completely sidelined just yet, I think it's more about keeping his appointees on side.
Last time he appointed people with some level of competence and kept sacking them because they disagreed with his methods. This time his appointment are loyal incompetents so he can't just fire them without losing face.

Trump can not just get rid of Vance.

Awareness is up that Musk us running rhe show and it isnt popular. But I don't believe for one minute that Musk is on his way out. He spent $250 million buying this Ptesidency, he isn't going down until he gets his moneys worth, in my opinion.

Oh I do hope you are wrong. Though of course getting rid of Musk doesn’t alter the fact that Trump and Vance are still very much there 🙄

I did wonder when Trump would tire of Musk. I imagine he will dump him pretty soon. This is his MO. Hire people he praises for hours, constantly referring to them as ‘great’ or ‘amazing’ until it becomes embarrassing to watch, then a few weeks or months later routinely dumping them.

Is Trump able to be rid of Vance? I hope so

According to BBC News, President Trump has had a "hastily convened" meeting with his various Cabinet Secretaries to inform them that they will make any decisions in their depts. and Elon Musk is to be restricted to merely an "advisory role."
It looks like even Trump was disturbed by Musk slashing and burning his way through the government and firing federal employees in large numbers, seemingly completely at random.

In fact, acting as if HE is the President.

Well, President Trump won't have that. It looks like the beginning of the end for Musk. J D Vance next?
