I wonder what does Selena Gomez have to say about this?

She was vociferous in her condemnation of Trump’s deportation orders in January’25 and posted her tears on Insta.

Donald Trump's "border tsar" has vehemently defended a drive to deport unlawful migrants after singer and actress Selena Gomez posted a tearful video saying: "All my people are being attacked, and children."

The star, who has Mexican heritage, sobbed uncontrollably on camera, adding: "I wish I could do something but I can't." She captioned her video with "I'm sorry" alongside a Mexican flag emoji.

But Tom Homan, responding to Gomez and others with similar views, told Fox News: , external"If they don't like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We're going to do this operation without apology."

Well now today, 238 members of the feared Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua are deported from America and hauled into El Salvador's notoriously tough Terrorism Confinement Centre - as Trump delivers on election promise.

I say well done Trump. Getting rid of violent gang members making America that bit safer.

Another innocent person shipped to El Salvador with no Due Process.

Allsorts, I share your dismay at these sights and your question- are they guilty of something?- equally troubling.
Guilty because Mr Trump says you are is not the same as guilty following due process. .

Allsorts Tue 25-Mar-25 07:15:56

All I know is the sight of young men, heads shaved, hands behind their backs and shackled is inhuman, it turned my stomach. Are they all guilty because Trump says or is it fact? These men a product of their environment have only known violence, so odds are they won’t change but to incarcerate them worse than animals in a cage for 50/60 years is repulsive. You bring a child up with love odds are they will be loving people, these never had a childhood. I would be terrified to walk in that prison and what it would do to someone innocent of charges can’t imagine.
What gives anyone to detain women in such conditions because of wrong visa is an abomination.
Message received, do not visit USA there government are feral. Sincerely hope Trump and Vance get what they dish out, threefold..

Goodness. What nonsense this sounds!
Queues would be out of the door.
Yes (maybe, perhaps) a slight degree of ‘profiling’? But c’mon …
😂

Have you read my links about the young women detained and the conditions they were held in?
Handcuffed, escorted in chains to be deported.

Strange that they were allowed into the USA on a particular visa and it was apparently fine when granted but not when trying to leave to go to another country.
All the bullying jobsworths have been given permission to act as they wish.

I look forward to you proving me wrong FGT.

imaround Mon 24-Mar-25 21:45:52

Well, here is some proof for you FGT. 🙄

Any of you who are on Facebook, are you getting an insane number of adverts for trips to the States? The boycotts must be starting to work.

Maremia Mon 24-Mar-25 19:23:02

Would using a burner phone help? No back history. Or would that prove you were a criminal?
Trump and his bullies are disgusting.

Allira Mon 24-Mar-25 15:50:57

I'll warn a member of my family who is going to the USA in a couple of months.

Allira Mon 24-Mar-25 15:49:44

Citizens are having phones checked for anti-Trump rhetoric when they hit customs.

My own daughter is in Hungary right now. I am worried about her being harassed. Citizens are having phones checked for anti-Trump rhetoric when they hit customs.

She will probably be fine, but I am headed to London and Paris in June and I would certainly be detained for anti Trump rhetoric.

The immigration jobsworths who were lurking in the woodwork now have a licence to treat women tourists like the worst of criminals because of Trump.

I understood he signed that particular proclamation within ours of becoming President.
Dud he actually read anything he signed?

Other young women from other countries have been detained in horrendous conditions. One Canadian woman has said that the world should be made aware of the dreadful conditions women are being kept in, told nothing, classed as illegal aliens because they allegedly had the wrong visas.

Actress Jasmine Mooney said:
'I've never seen anything like this,' she told the outlet. 'I feel like we have been kidnapped, and we are in some sort of insane social, psychological, social experiment.'

Welling up, Mooney added: 'I really want to be a voice for the women in here, because what is happening is so unjust and I know that there's a better way to do this.'

She also noted how her time in custody made her severely confused.

'It’s been 11 days now, and I have no idea what is going on, they don't tell you anything, and I have lost so much weight. I'm truly, physically, weak.'

He has no clue what he is signing. This is all Project 2025 Heritage Foundation agenda.

Wyllow3 Mon 24-Mar-25 00:11:12

Liar, given the copy available!
Mind you, I can imagine him signing something shoved in front of him without understanding a word.

Trump has claimed, on TV so he can't deny it, that he did not sign the EO for the Alien Insurrection Act. He doesn't know who signed it.

This is going to be a big mess this week.

Other countries, not counters.

Germany and the UK have issued warnings/advice, as have other counters for specific circumstances

Many countries are, quite rightly, informing their citizens that the USA may not be a safe place for travel.
This will have a significant negative impact on their tourist industry.
I wonder any rendered unemployed thereafter voted for Mr Trump because they wished him to " send people home". An example, possibly, of the old adage about being careful what you wish for.

I wasn't aware of this case yet. A woman from Wales backpacking through North America. They said she was "working" in the US because she helped with chores in exchange for a place to stay as she was moving through.

They put her in chains and held her for 9 days.

www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjd3prze9yjo

This is dreadful, it's the first I've heard of it. Rebecca was taken to the plane in chains to be deported.
This could happen to any young person wanting to experience a few weeks travelling in the USA.

The local MP has become involved.

imaround Fri 21-Mar-25 03:18:41

The evidence is starting to come out for those Venezuelans who were deported. This article has more information, but basically they are trying to tie random tattoos to gangs.

It is disgusting that these people are being sent to a prison in El Salvador indefinitely with no recourse.

There is evidence in there of some very nasty stuff but unattributed to individuals/generalising and for example rounding people up for being in the same house as known gang members?

imaround Wed 19-Mar-25 21:33:47

Regarding the Venezuelans who have been imprisoned in El Salvador. The ones they say are gang members, but really aren't. Then judge asked Trumps team to turn over the information proving they are gang members.

Trumps attorneys told the court today that the fact that ICE does not have a complete dossier on these people proves they are terrorists.

So now being Venezuelan with no proof of being gang members is enough for you to be sent to prison in a country you don't belong in.
