- without warning, in the middle of the night- in the middle of Ramadan.

NOTHING.

love0c Wed 19-Mar-25 07:56:04

Petra Yes I knew that. It was to make all the people excusing Hamas to think!

escaped Wed 19-Mar-25 07:54:46

IF ONLY the hostages had all been released in a timely nanner, and without all that appalling behaviour, people -including myself- would now be condemning Netanyahu to hell.
The bombing in Gaza is very sad.

Anniebach Wed 19-Mar-25 07:53:27

‘ watching those vulnerable people, little children ‘ , all videos
all claims of numbers killed are from Hamas, the many allegations from doctors we have read, Hamas runs the hospitals,.

ronib Wed 19-Mar-25 07:53:22

Dead bodies can be released?

petra Wed 19-Mar-25 07:52:32

Why didn't Hamas release all the hostages?

Because there’s every possibility they are dead😥

Fighting any enemy regardless is not like this. Fighting against terrorism is not like this. We can no longer ignore what is going on because we feel that genocide is somehow acceptable under certain circumstances. That makes us complicit.
At various points along the way we tried to justify this, ‘ok so is 20,000 dead, half of them children, but it is Hamas’, then ‘ok it is 30,000 dead half of them children but it is Hamas’, ‘ok so is 50,000 dead half of them are starving children but it is Hamas.’
Then there is a ceasefire and a chance for peace but because Hamas simply question the truce, perhaps bloody mindedly who knows, but even so, they just want to move onto the next stage of the truce, Netanyahu decides to murder more innocents, over 400, some say as many as 600, but let’s say over 400. Which makes Netanyahus murderous intent clear for us all to see.
Tbh am not replying to those who will attempt to make this about anything other than genocide out of respect for those murdered, and for the Israeli families who will now not be reunited with their loved ones.
One statement from a mother who had just lost her husband and children was as galling as it was heartbreaking, she said that her children had died hungry.
The children and babies are starving as well as being murdered.

Allsorts Wed 19-Mar-25 07:31:37

This is murder, repulsive. Israel is not a God fearing country, how anyone can support them is beyond me. Watching those vulnerable people, little children as sitting targets last night broke my heart.
The way Trump has those men being deported is sickening, I know many are gang leaders, being treated like dirt, shaving their heads, dehumanising and shackling them, says more about Trump, he gies on about his dear mother, I would disown him.. Is this what America wants! Put Trump and Putin on a boat to nowhere.
I will never buy anything from Israel or America again, certainly won’t be visiting,
Shame on them, hope they reap what they sow. Soon.

Meanwhile in the West Bank

The Palestinian Wafa news agency and other local media have reported on several incidents involving the Israeli military and settlers in the occupied West Bank overnight and this morning, including:

Three Palestinian were injured – two suffering bullet wounds and a third beaten up – when Israeli forces stormed Dura town, south of Hebron.
Troops set fire to several Palestinian homes in the Jenin refugee camp, an attack which Wafa said was carried out on the 57th day of Israel’s incursion into the camp, and where at least 34 people have been killed, dozens injured and civilian infrastructure and homes destroyed.
Israeli forces carried out a raid in the vicinity of the Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus.
Tear gas and sound bombs were used against worshippers in the village of Jouret al-Sham’a, south of Bethlehem, after they finished evening and Ramadan prayers.
Israeli troops stormed the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus city, where they searched a commercial premises.
Israeli settlers raided the Palestinian Khallet al-Nahla area, south of Bethlehem.
Israeli forces destroyed residential and agricultural structures in the Bedouin community in Arab al-Melahat village, northwest of Jericho.
Israeli settlers vandalised agricultural crops and released livestock in a village in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron.

The information is from a variety of sources

“The Hostages and Missing Families Forum has accused the government of "a complete deception" by pulling out of a deal "that could have brought everyone home."
While some of the prime minister's most staunch critics suggest that the attacks are an attempt by Netanyahu to distract from damaging legal and political crises he faces closer to home.
Most critically, there is a fundamental dispute between the Israeli and Hamas sides about who is to blame for the failure of recent efforts to progress the ceasefire.

The ceasefire was supposed to continue as long as talks over the second phase went on, according to the agreement reached after more than a year of negotiations mediated by the United States, Egypt and Qatar.

During the first phase, Hamas returned 25 living hostages and the remains of eight others in exchange for the release of nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Israeli forces also withdrew to buffer zones inside Gaza, and hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians returned to northern Gaza. No further hostage releases were called for under the agreement until the second phase.

Hundreds of aid trucks had been entering daily. But two weeks ago, Israel cut off all food, medicine, fuel, electricity and other supplies to the territory’s around two million people to pressure Hamas to accept a new proposal.

The new plan would require Hamas to release half its remaining hostages — the militant group’s main bargaining chip — in exchange for a ceasefire extension and a promise to negotiate a lasting truce. Israel made no mention of releasing more Palestinian prisoners — a key component of the first phase.

Hamas refused the new proposal, accusing Israel of trying to sabotage the existing agreement.”

It has always been thought that Netanyahu would not honour the second phase and so it has proved.

Trump is supporting the action - each day brings him and his family closer to greater wealth. They will walk on the bones of children.

Not just Muslims, many uni students who go round chanting from the river to the sea. Makes me feel physically sick.

Anniebach Wed 19-Mar-25 06:54:52

lixy I do understand, I truly believe the horrors of the October atrocities were the final acts of hatred of Jews by Muslims, I wish it wasn’t so but antisemitism is and always has been at the root of the persecution of Jews.

A poster has referred to the increase of antisemitism across the world, there has been no attacks caused by the war on Ukraine,
a police officer in England spoken of a Jew as being ‘openly Jewish’ this was last year .

Galaxy Wed 19-Mar-25 06:52:37

Personally I think there are lots of people on these threads who no longer have any idea what sense is, Annie is not one of them.

ronib Wed 19-Mar-25 06:47:33

My understanding is that hostages were still not released by Hamas after nearly two months’ ceasefire. Trump has rearmed Israel. 1900 Hamas prisoners were released by Israel.
So what do we make of this ?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 19-Mar-25 06:41:02

anniebach you have totally lost your sense of perspective, and your posts no longer make any sense.

lixy Wed 19-Mar-25 06:32:34

Sorry Ann iebach but I cannot agree with you that this is a response to the October atrocity. It feels totally malicious.

When the ceasefire with Hezbollah on the Lebanese border was about to come into force there was a huge amount of rocket fire from both sides, which seemed senseless. The best I can hope for is that this is a similar final flourish, but it is grim, just horribly, deeply and truly grim.

Lovetopaint037 Wed 19-Mar-25 06:21:03

Netanyahu is pure evil. Any excuse to continue the war to save his skin.

Anniebach Wed 19-Mar-25 03:40:29

Sickening, nothing makes slaughter like that other than deliberate cruelty.

The slaughter of a mother and her two babies wasn’t deliberate
cruelty?

Quote Whitewavemark2 Tue 18-Mar-25 22:00:21
I simply can’t bear it. How evil must you be to inflict such horror?

Hamas are not evil ?

I'm sickened by the news. BBC report

Netanyahu calls strikes on Gaza 'only the beginning' as hundreds reported killed

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyg28wd1k3o

Anyone else think he's been talking to Trump?

Anniebach Tue 18-Mar-25 23:03:39

What can excuse the Hamas and other Palestinian groups attack on Israel October 7th 2023 and the treatment of the Israeli Hostages following October 7th 3023 .?

The tiny babies held has hostages and brutally murdered with their mother was excusable ?

The number killed has been given by Hamas

ayse Tue 18-Mar-25 22:51:34

It’s just pure evil. All those poor people ghettoised then bombed to oblivion whilst the world looks on. It’s horrifying. Whilst Trump looks on and rubs his hands with glee in cahoots with Netanyahu (and Putin) looking to land grab and make money out of the misery of others.

All those innocent children…. I agree with the comments above

keepingquiet Tue 18-Mar-25 22:12:42

More children killed for what? I'm also sickened by this...how will this get any more hostages out?

I cannot look at Netanyahu or listen to his voice- he is a despot and Trump has achieved nothing...

How can killing babies help anything? It is disgusting, wicked and evil...

Allira Tue 18-Mar-25 22:12:25

Babs03

Apparently state of the art fighter planes laden with bombs to cut through concrete/stone were bombing ramshackle tents. People were incinerated.

Yes, bombing people in tents, so many children.

Then Netanyahu is on the BBC saying he is just after Hamas.
He lies.

Babs03 Tue 18-Mar-25 22:06:39

Cried buckets tonight watching the images.
Babies for Gods sake….babies.
I personally can’t stand it.
