Disgraced comedian charged with oral rape and sexual assault following Metropolitan Police investigation.

No wonder in the interim he ‘found religion’.

Horrible man, sleazy at best. Full of himself.

Abhorrent behaviour towards women ! guilty as charged

Iam64 Fri 11-Apr-25 08:30:29

It’s right to question his mental health, I’d add his history of substance misuse.
None of this excuses his abhorrent behaviour towards women over many years. He may be a less out of control individual currently but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be charged.

Nana49 Thu 10-Apr-25 18:39:45

I just get the impression he's just not really aligned with any political party, he's retweeting Jeremy Corbyn & then Trump. Might just be having some sort of breakdown I don't think his mental health is great, he's bipolar.

Galaxy Thu 10-Apr-25 14:34:48

They are not. He was once a lefty, is now on the right mixed with religion and conspiracy theories. Allegations of this sort happen across all political parties.

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 10-Apr-25 13:54:39

Galaxy, I don't understand your post. Are you saying that his political allegiances ( apparently moveable) are relevant to the allegations, or not?

Galaxy Thu 10-Apr-25 09:12:11

When the alleged offences occurred he was a lefty, urging people to vote Labour. Almost as if his political views are irrelevant to this.

LaCrepescule Thu 10-Apr-25 08:03:32

He’s a Trump supporter too 😬

You have little faith in our jury system.

Yes I think it can be easily prejudiced, especially with a case like this one. They'll have to go to the remote corners of the UK to find people who don't know about it

Incidentally, there's a recent documentary that shows without much doubt that jury's will make different decisions about the exact same case. The experts said that it has a long way to go before it's "fair' & "just".
It might therefore be that people have far too much faith in the jury system. Our legal system is very fair from perfect.

I always found him repellent, not that it means he committed any crimes. He will get a fair trial I expect, but surely anything against him will be very hard to prove.

Iam64 Sun 06-Apr-25 18:49:41

I’m sure they are nana49, all over the internet. There are still die hard Jackson fans who think a strange adult man having sleep overs with little boys is ok

*There's speculation I'm sure that this recent event is to shut him up. One woman said she was approached by officers who tried to convince her to make a legal complaint yet she'd never met RB.*

I think that this is exactly the sort of thing that could prejudice a trial. It was made very clear at the time of the Dispatches programme that everything in it could be proved, so discussions about that will, as I understand it, be perfectly legal, but the above comment is different.

Well these comments are everywhere. All over the internet.

Mind you there are woman out there that are just as bad & encouraging!

Galaxy Sun 06-Apr-25 12:19:01

If you listen to some of the young women who were on reality shows say 10 -15 years ago, they very much regret things that happened, now you could say that is true of many of us in terms of regret, the difference is it wasn't on live TV or social media where it us saved for eternity.

Indeed granny gravy.
I think it might also be useful for society not to cheer on men who have sex with hundreds of women. Just a thought.

Now there is a young women on social media boasting about the number of men she slept with in one day to get into the record books.

Todays virtues and values make the sixties look demure…

My sixties was demure 😀
I’m uneasy about the focus on sex in those reality shows. I’m horrified that the young woman boasting about sex with hundreds of men in 24 hours is plotting another extreme episode.
What a way to earn a living

He is now married to Laura Gallacher (Kirsty’s sister) with three children, he was previously married to Katy Perry (American pop singer)

He has ADHD and Bi-polar as well as a long history of drug abuse.

He is originally from 10 minutes up the road from me.

If found guilty, he should get the appropriate sentence.

I also think that the entertainment industry needs to take a hard look at its practices and duty of care to see why these incidents keep happening here and abroad.

I think one of the other issues here is that due to RB’s drug and alcohol misuse and, possible, mental health issues he might actually have no real memories of parts of his life.

Cossy Sun 06-Apr-25 08:59:33

So he is guilty , end of

No, of course not, but as I understand it this would not have culminated with an arrest unless there was some very strong evidence.

I agree, he’s sleazy, however, despite trial by media, he is still “innocent til proven guilty”

wendyann23 Sun 06-Apr-25 08:55:15

I think he is an obnoxious man but hope he gets a fair trial. I think he has a wife and small children now so feel very sorry for them.

Kandinsky

I like him.
He was different & funny.
Thought he was very good looking in his younger days and I’m sure he had 100’s ( if not 1000’s ) of women throwing themselves at him.
After the Cliff Richard incident I presume people are innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

I was thinking of poor cliff Richard just yesterday, that was just appalling. He didn't deserve what he got & he was right to fight it.
I thought RB was quite amusing in his day. I don't know about his current diversion into left then right of centre politics. He certainly speaks out about governments & is extreme in his views. There's speculation I'm sure that this recent event is to shut him up. One woman said she was approached by officers who tried to convince her to make a legal complaint yet she'd never met RB.
Conspiracy theories aside it'll be interesting to see what unfolds.
RB was part of an era when he was expected to be out there & lewd, I'm in two minds if he's being charged as to whether the production company & his management should be charged as well, the outrageous behaviour was expected of him & so was the womenising.
It's going to be an absolute circus.

petra Sun 06-Apr-25 08:39:40

One thing is for sure, he will make a theatre out of his time in the dock. He never uses one word when he can use 20.

I can see absolutely no reason why he should not have a fair trial. He is not a likeable man and many clearly do nto like him, including me, but that does not preclude him having a fair trial.

I mean for that reason...if he's not "liked" by so many people to start with, & the media speculation that he's already guilty. There's been an entire documentary done about the allegations. This is already splurged into the public arena far too much. That's why there's too much knowledge. Jury cannot know all about it before they go in, or he wouldn't get a fair trial. I think he wouldn't get one in the UK.
