My granddaughter has recently had a little boy and the photos of him with his Mum are replicas of Poppy’s.

Has Boris ever finished that book about Shakespeare? I'm surprised the publishers haven't asked for the advance back.

I am pretty sure he hasn't which is a pity as I was looking forward to it.

The world might be overpopulated, however our birth rate is dropping and we are all living longer and longer

They are married, and Carrie is a Catholic so I read, so will want children.They can afford to have four so why not?
Not liking Boris or Tory MP’s shouldn’t mean sour grapes about the birth of a baby.

Well I really wish the baby well and hope she is loved and has a happy, stable childhood. Boris's adult children all seem to lead quietly successful and contented lives in their own chosen directions.

He has been particularly judgemental about single mothers and their children in the past which I find rich from a man whose personal life must surely occasion raised eyebrows even from those of us who are too polite or kind to say so.

He seems to be better at producing than being a politician at least. Why is this news? Someone I know had a new grandson last week...

Probably because he was recently Prime Minister of the country for 3+ years - an achievement by Tory standards!
And probably because I'm a sucker for sweet baby photos - with faces!
And definitely because it was in the news!!

I've seen far less newsworthy items on this forum, but all interesting to some, so why not?

And as said in the opening post, at least it’s a proper picture of the new baby, not a hand, foot or back view, unlike some we could mention.

A lovely picture. Boris must be so proud and happy, I bet he is a good Dad.

A new baby is always a blessing. Wish them well.

As long as the family is self supporting and not relying on the state, it is nobody’s business how many children a couple decide to have.

We have five, they are all adults now and contribute to society.

"Global over-population is the real issue" is the heading for an article written by Boris Johnson in 2007.

His known children (to date) are:- Lara, Stephanie, Theodore, Cassia, Milo, Wilfred, Romy, Frank and Poppy.

I am stating facts and make no comments.

Globally birth rates are falling. This was predicted ages ago and there are lots of articles now being written about the problems it will cause.

Won’t say what I think.

Ever thought of not implying cruel thoughts about a new mother and her new born? Obviously not.

They appear to be a very happy and content family. Two boys and two girls.

Although I am never likely to meet them, let alone know them, I wish the Johnson family well and I hope the are allowed to enjoy having a lovely new baby without media interference.

I'm not clear on whether the population overall is increasing or deceasing, Magenta8.
What I think is "tough but true" is that the rest of us have to adapt or die.....

Not what I’ve heard, my friend who’s a teacher, said they might make redundancies at her school, due to low birth rate since Covid, they haven’t taken on a lot of infants.

If they aren’t relying on anyone for their upkeep, more the merrier, I say.

Adapt or die. That has been true throughout the history of the world. (Sorry I am going off piste again)
