That’s the question I ask myself Macadia. We do speak more openly of rape as a weapon of war and our generation will have read of the horror of advancing Russian troops in Ww2 as they were associated with rape of women. I heard a news item on radio 4 this morning about the use of rape of infants and children in the war in Sudan. I consulted a google search engine, see below.
The bbc news on line reported in March that UNICEF reported that in the Sudan war, 221 rapes had been reported . with an additional 77 cases of sexual assault against children, mostly attempted rape including infants as young as one. A third of the victims were boys.
UNICEF said that there were likely to be more than the official 222 reported at the start of 2024. 16 of the victims were under the age of five years, including four infants.
According to evidence presented by international human rights groups, victims in the REF stronghold of Darfur were often targeted because they were black African rather than Arab, apparently with the aim of driving them out of Sudan
What possesses men to rape infants or children. My working life meant I was in contact with men who found infants and children sexually arousing. Am I wrong in seeing that as dangerous deviant behaviour yet struggling to accept it as a weapon of war. Some of these ‘soldiers’ will be fathers, some will be adolescent boys
It’s just beyond dreadful

UK prosecutors say 21 charges authorised against Tate brothers
(50 Posts)Prosecutors in the UK have confirmed for the first time they have authorised 21 charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.
Until now charges were only issued in Romania.
The brothers hold UK/US citizenship and are currently in Romania. they had been in the USA but returned to Romania in March.
The CPS's charging decision came after it received a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police about allegations made in the UK.
The CPS said Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old influencer and former kickboxer, faces 10 charges connected to three alleged victims, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain.
Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges connected to one alleged victim, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.
But the CPS said "the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first'
(The pair were both born in the US but moved to Luton in the UK with their mother after their parents divorced.
In recent years, Andrew Tate has built an massive online presence, including more than 10 million followers on X, formerly Twitter, sharing his lifestyle of fast cars, private jets, and yachts.
He and his brother were first arrested in Romania in December 2022, with Andrew accused of rape and human trafficking and Tristan suspected of human trafficking.
They both denied the charges and spent several months under house arrest).
A year later, in August 2024, they faced new allegations including sex with a minor and trafficking underage persons, all of which they deny.
When will justice catch up with them at last?

Isn't it the mother that rocks the cradle? What is going on?
Even affects the royal family. I don't understand this.
I know that rape is commonly used as a weapon in times of war, but now? I am afraid for the 4 billion females. There has been a strange shift. Or is it that it's more publicized now?
Yes, I think thee is a backlash, or on a more minor everyday level, an insecurity of what is perceived to have been "lost"
but instead of getting on with the changes which often have improved family life and sometimes working life so much (thinking of my son and the difference between him and say his Dad and my Dad all round in attitudes
the loss turns to blame.
@Wyllow3. Thank you for the information on RedPill. As a man I am appalled at what many young men now believe and clearly this sort of cultish laddish thought pattern, quite correctly defined as radicalisation, is very different from what I simply, and to be honest innocently, thought was a slight increase in the normal teenage lads egging each other on and being childishly inappropriate, something that all men I am guessing would, if they were honest with themselves admit to having done occasionally, especially when a a bit drunk in their teenage or early twenties. I now realise that this, Russel Brand, advanced misogyny and the intel movement are clearly linked.
Now why it has happened is obvious. Women have, at last, gained their rightful place in all aspects of life and we men, on the whole, albeit grudgingly, have learned to take our place as equal partners doing our share of stuff and being more thoughtful. Alas some men clearly resent this direction of travel and, rather than being grown up about it and admitting we had it far too good for far too many centuries, now are creating an anti-feminist movement to put the little woman not just back in her place but probably, if they had their way, back to pre 1817 when to quote Venning in ‘Following the drum’ “sax and thirty lashes a piece on the bare doup and it was lang afore it was forgotten on ‘em”.
We no longer even flog soldiers and sailors so that we must, and it is men’s responsibility to ensure it is so, move to a more balanced, equal world and if imprisoning the Tate Brothers first in Romania and then in Britain, and Brand and all other rapists and all criminal RedPill perverts sends the message that equality REALLY matters, so much the better.
I can’t help wondering what mama Tate thinks of how her boys have turned out.
I just really really hope that they’re put away for a very long time. Hideous human beings.
The BBC are STILL showing Andrew Tate - The Story!!!
I’ve been asking them for at least two years to get rid of this filth but it’s still there! This we do not need to see
Two thoroughly rotten little creeps, I hope they are put away for a very long time. The problem is that with so many followers, they may become even more heroic to their mysoganistic followers.
I agree Magenta8 but keep returning to what is it that so many males are drawn to abusive behaviour towards women and girls.
It feels one step forward, two steps back is the constant theme. Equality 🙈
Domestic violence against women is on the increase and laddish culture is spreading through secondary schools.
I can't help thinking that these two influencers have a great deal more to answer for apart from the 11 charges they are accused of.
I've just looked up Hooters. Not topless but waitresses in tiny tops and shorts. I imagined it was for stag nights but they are advertising that on Sundays children eat free. What the Dickens?
I do remember them, one near where I worked in the west end where some male colleagues would go lunch time, then come back and make sexist comments about women's breasts they'd gawped at, sometimes alluding to ours. This was back in the '70s some of the crap we had to put up with
They wouldn't get away with it today, as bad as that was in some respects with the advent of social media, smart phones have unleashed a whole new wave of horrors, porn as opposed to titillation much more accessible.
Hooters are very evident in the US. Depressingly they've opened here, Newcastle I think I read, depressingly retrograde, sexist places.
Indeed Galaxy, as with Epstein, Weinstein etc. the power these men wield seems staggeringly high
And there were numerous people around P Diddy who knew what was happening.
MayBee70
Does anyone remember topless bars? When I lived in Manchester some of the lads I worked with used to go to one at lunchtime. Never having been in one myself I question my memory as to whether they did actually exist and were deemed to be acceptable, but I'm sure my memory is correct.
Yes they definitely existed, they were called Hooter’s
I would also add P Diddy into the mix of toxic men, Tate Brothers Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, I pity the women who came into his orbit, particularly his ex girlfriend who has had to tesify at his trial. The way these men have treated women as objects for their amusment and gratification, appalling!
The objectification of women continues 🙈
Like MayBee70 I never went to one but I remember a cartoon in which a topless waitress is serving soup and she had bent over a little too far. The caption read "Waiter, waiter there's a mammary gland in my soup" I did not find it any funnier then than I do now. Yes I am sure they did exist as did topless restaurants.

It is also something to do with the whole normalisation of porn and the cheering on of prostitution. I was involved in a conversation recently - group of professional women all talking in a matter of fact way about visiting Amsterdam and the shows etc, it was utterly depressing.
Good arrest record Wyllow. I came across clips from our local newspaper showing photographs of friends and me demonstrating against an ‘adult shop’. This would have been late 1970’s, when we also marched to reclaim the night.
It all seems very mild compared to the Tate’s and internet pornography. I’d never heard of strangling as part of love making
What worries me is that the Tates and their like must have a large network of "like minded" people who were willing to co-operate voluntarily or for pay in order to carry on their disgusting activities. Especially worrying is the fact that some of them have to be women.
Reading their revolting outpourings I gather that they see women as a simple minded sub-species that can be controlled by a few simple tricks which are supposed to work on all women. Sprinkle a few myths about how all women think and a whole culture of toxic masculinity can attract men especially immature, insecure youngsters.
Sorry for the digression...I am genuine concerned the Tate stuff is still out there and they remain free due to legal wobbles abroad.
Thanks, TerriBull. I did some time back talk about it with a niece who was headteachers of a large secondary school who said that a lot of "controversial" sexual/gender issues were not "taught" but always raised by pupils way ahead of teachers on the SM front.
Glad you talk to your GD. Everything matters if all do their bit.
ahem....my only arrest was on a demonstration outside a "gentleman's club" opening in the 1970's what with the Lord Mayor of the time turning up to its opening. Blocking the pavement. A young male solicitor in sympathy with the women's movement was called in and no charges...
Thank you Wyllow for clarification I occasionally bring the subject of coercion with my granddaughter and to resist it all costs.
Slightly off topic. I was delighted when a lap dancing club was shut down by popular consensus from residents' pressure, where I used to live a couple of miles from Twickenham, entertainment fors 'some' of the more rowdier of rugby supporters
cited in a town, surrounded by residential areas many complaints about the men it attracted hanging around the environs. Once a regular shop. Thankfully reinstated as a dry cleaners. Euphemistically known as "gentleman's clubs" more like gratuitous gatherings for the objectification of women. As with prostitution, never sure how much coercion exists within that form of entertainment, using that word loosely, trafficking etc.
Thank you Jane I get the picture in Romania now. They clearly can afford top lawyers to prolong what was an initial inadequate prosecution case.
They are hugely wealthy. This Sky article shows just how. I can see how the seized assets came up and they've fought this in court too. Hackers working against him found out who was buying their material online.
