Just watching what happened in down-town Los Angeles yesterday as ICE, ATF and others conducted raids against immigrants and others.

The Los Angeles citizens protested through the night against the military-style raises. In a statement from Kathryn Barger, a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, she says:

I am aware of today's DHS ICE enforcement actions that took place in Los Angeles. At this time, my office is actively monitoring the situation. While I fully support the enforcement of our nation’s laws, I also believe it is essential that actions taken by federal agencies are conducted with transparency, fairness, and respect for the rights and dignity of all individuals. My priority remains the safety and well-being of all residents of Los Angeles County.

I think swelling of the legs, ankles in particular, is an early sign of the heart beginning to struggle, isn't it? I could be wrong of course.

Trump has ordered the release of "credible" Epstein files. Naturally, any mention of him will make a file "incredible", so it won't be released.

He is playing with fire, again, and this time he may get burned.

If they want more babies being born, maybe the should be helping pregnant women?

"Last night at a town hall in Jonesborough, Tennessee, a woman shared her story: she was denied prenatal care by her OB-GYN because the doctor objected to the fact that she isn’t married. She’s been with her partner for 15 years and has a 13-year-old son.

The doctor told her that because she was unwed, according to a new law in Tennessee, he didn’t feel comfortable treating her because it went against his “Christian values.”

Now, she’s traveling out of state to Virginia to receive prenatal care."

Good article in The Guardian today about how Trump is being devoured by a conspiracy theory of his own making and the Epstein files.

If he does lose control, then I suspect we will see some Republicans turning big time and going for Trump. I am sure many Republicans have been waiting for something like this.

Trump has successfully controlled his opponents, but does not seem to be able to control his base.

They have a lot to be disgruntled about.

The bombing of Iran.
The greater involvement in Ukraine
The stripping of health insurance from millions
Now the elite, entitlement and paedophilia. The republicans have always claimed to be the protectors of children, and this whiff or stench of paedophiles does not sit well with Trumps base.

Trump’s efforts at pointing the other way have so far been totally unsuccessful. He has even gone to the extent of allowing the doctors to publish information about his health.

Nothing so far has worked.

Swelling in the legs and ankles due to veins is something that affects lots of older people isn’t it?
Trump does so many visits to far flung countries from the US that flying could well be the problem.

Mum has problems with swelling and was advised to not sit down but to always elevate the feet when resting.

WWM I like the bit about Trump rode the tiger and now sees his error of judgement.

The US is fast becoming an uncivilised country.

Aely it is indeed I have lymphoedema because my hear can't push the lymph around properly. At this moment I am sitting at my computer with my feet up on a cool breeze block form the garden.

iamaround are you OK?

Missing your posts🙂.

So Trump is suing Murdoch over the rude Epstein birthday card.

Two ancient idiots with too much money throwing insults at each other, while the life for ordinary folk in the USA gets tougher and tougher.

I'm here! My volunteer event starts today and runs all week, so I will be popping in and out.

It would be fitting if Trump and Murdoch end up taking each other down. Wishful thinking, I know.

Trump's demands from Harvard.

I haven't even read the entire article yet. The synopsis I saw of what Trump demanded is insane.

These people are insane.

We now know the next group of people who Trump plans to kidnap off the street.

Homeless people.

I don’t think this is going to go away for Trump, I was reading CNN this morning, and more details are emerging, there’s a second interview with Ghislaine Maxwell today.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Jul-25 07:45:31

Trump is being very “kind” to Maxwell in his rhetoric. Wishing her well etc.

I reckon that he is hoping that Maxwell will do him a favour (which could be reciprocated?) and deny Trumps involvement in anything to do with young girls.

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 25-Jul-25 08:38:55

It will be interesting to see Ms Maxwell's next steps. I feel a pardon coming on...

It’s suspected that a pardon was promised when she was convicted. That’s why she kept quiet.

Aely Wed 30-Jul-25 12:41:56

I have heard speculation regarding a possible pardon, in exchange for a zipped mouth, from a contact in South Carolina.

Casdon Wed 30-Jul-25 13:28:19

It will be quite wrong if Ghislaine Maxwell is pardoned, the evidence against her was so strong, and it would effectively be condoning child sex trafficking - would Trump stoop that low to attempt to save his own skin?

I saw this earlier though, he doesn’t engage his brain before he opens his mouth - it’s hard to believe he would accuse Epstein of poaching young girls who worked for him, but he has.

I read somewhere that a pardon is not within Trumps gift snd in any case would be very strongly contested 🤞🤞. Not sure if that is correct though.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 30-Jul-25 13:39:05

It is a shame that iamaround seems no longer to be posting, because I wanted to ask her if it is true that America is beginning to wake up regarding the starvation etc in Gaza . That is what I am hearing, and that voters are contacting their representatives.

Apparently the stark images of the babies and toddlers are on television every day now, and which is something Trump will definitely not like.

imaround Wed 30-Jul-25 15:21:11

I'm here! And, it does appear to be so. MTG called it a genocide, finally.

I am not sure it matters. Nothing will change.

I was listening to a reporter who reckons that Trump hates seeing the starving children on television, and if it continues it may well pressure him into forcing Netanyahu to stop starving them.

Trump has admitted that there is starvation, it only takes a few more steps🤞🤞🤞

imaround Wed 30-Jul-25 21:06:08

I no longer have any optimism that Trump is capable of empathy. The only thing he cares about is how others perceive him. If he thinks starving children look bad on him, he will do something. If not, he will let them all starve in order to build his new hotel in Gaza.

Something interesting that could mean nothing but did get my attention is that there are reports that Trump wanted to pull back on some decision he made (cant remember now, it could have been Gaza or Ukraine) and the Republicans in Congress disagreed.

They don't push back often, so when they do it stand outs. I feel like it could be getting to the point where he has outlived his usefulness for The Heritage Foundation and they may start working around him. Especially since he is the figurehead of some very unpopular policies recently. And now adding in the starvation in Gaza. Me feeling it doesn't make it true though. Just an observation that I will keep watching for.

I am ready to get off this train.
