Israel attack on Iran

This is a serious situation. Netanyahu has gone against advice from the US and has attacked Iran.
Iran will retaliate and Israel has closed down today waiting for the attack.
Although the US has distanced itself from this only warning Iran not to target US bases it's inevitable that they may get pulled into this war.

I can’t stand Starmer as a PM, as many will know but I wouldn’t resort to name calling because I actually think on a personal level he is a nice person. Believe it or not. Just so those accusing me of name calling know.

Not sure arguments like this have much to add to the discussion about the potential slaughter of thousands of innocents.

The UK hasn’t bathed itself in glory with the recent bunch of prime ministers- you would almost think that the role needed revamping maybe along the lines of the French system of President and Prime Minister? Sharing the misery of power …..

He's not your PM, so it doesn't matter if you can stand him or not.

I have just sent this to the BBC News desk. The email address is easy to find by googling for a direct email. I'm asking people here to consider this or similar to news outlets?

"“Dear BBC News desk

Re...reporting on Gaza

Gaza is suffering terribly as we all know. There was proper and regular news coverage of the situation and tactful but balanced reporting of the current Israeli regimes' managing the complex hostage and aid situations

But since Israel started attacking Iran, honestly, I have not heard of the Gaza and hostage situation on news broadcasts

May I beg you, on behalf of all of us who care about the starving in Gaza, the situations I outline above, to resume reporting of what is happening in Gaza

It's not my place (nor the BBC's) to speculate whether the invasion of Iran was timed to stop reporting of Gaza

But please, please resume your balanced reporting on Gaza? Please let me know if you can and will do this

I feel the need to get the Gaza and hostage situation back in the news - anyone agree?

Yes, I do.
The starvation of Palestinians in Gaza is inhumane and just the worst thing I've seen in my lifetime.
Thankyou, I'm informing BBC of the same.

Hope the Leaders in both countries allow the populations to have a quieter night.

Absolutely Oreo

Oh dear, just noticed a post on Facebook, not new, saying that Turkey was coming onside with Iran. There is a long list of 'why?' and it includes the genocide in Gaza.
Trump, latest I've seen, says he is waiting to see how negotiations get on. All could change again, depending on who he is speaking to.

Trump can change his mind in a moment so I won't be trusting this announcement.

No announcement by him can be trusted, he turns on a sixpence.

I will be on the march in London on Saturday and will report back after. Am assuming it will be peaceful and know it won’t get a mention on the news.
I am not a spring chicken and it’s going to be very hot but I want to show support and hope I make it through to Downing Street.

Seriously, stay away, it’s maybe the hottest day of the year and I seem to remember you saying you’re over 80 on a thread.

White House statement

“Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision on whether or not to go within the next two weeks'”

I bet Netanyahu is not best pleased. But folk in Iran must be breathing a sigh of relief (and probably Israel)

Who is the most dangerous currently. Ayatolla or Trump?

Answer, Netanyahu, he is pulling all the strings and encouraging Trump and the West into another disastrous war, like Irak X 1000. aka WW3.

Aided and abetted by Trump's mate the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. Saudi and Iran hate each other. Mohammed bin Salman currently seems to be going out of his way to make Trump believe that Iran has nuclear weapons.

Anybody who makes a public announcement "I may do it. I may not do it. Nobody knows what I'm going to do" should be treated with caution.

Antisemitism is against all Jewish people. Anti Israel is against the country. The Jewish people across the world are not responsible for the the political situation in Israel any more than all Muslims are terrorists, all Catholics are responsible for the priests who abused children and so on.

Chilling, the same story, the same people, the same scare mongering - since 1995. Irak, and now Iran

Also with you in spirit too.

I would say there is absolutely NO doubt whatsoever the Israeli Government is quite deliberately doing its darndest to make sure there is literally no trace whatsoever of either Gaza or the Palestinians living there. Shocking indeed and I reckon the timing of them attacking Iran is very deliberate to try and "cover" what they seem to regard as the last traces of doing this. Netanyahu and his cronies are simply not human beings as I understand the meaning.

There is a theory I've come across that some people (maybe a rather noticeable number at that) literally don't have a soul. I'm not going to say I disbelieve that in the circumstances. There is nothing behind Netanyahu's eyes...

You can find news on Gaza from various outlets but it isn't headline news for now. It shouldn't drop out of focus for so many reasons one of them being that it's too convenient for Netanyahu.
He's playing the hero saving the world from evil Iran but we should never forget what has been done and is still being done in Gaza.

I've just read that Netanyahu has said that the Iranian leader deserves to die for the hit on an Israeli hospital. Is the man suffering from some kind of cognitive dissidence? Remind me again how many Gazan hospitals have been hit. Does that mean that the leader of the country responsible for the hits deserves to die?
