Oh Lordy, what now …this is scary news and now what happens..

Claremont

Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear agreement- with a stroke of a pen during his first Presidency. Here Obama explains clearly what it would lead to, and where we are now.

Yet another thing that people have forgotten sad

LizzieDrip Tue 24-Jun-25 16:20:04

… and Netanyahu has been claiming that Iran is soooo close to a nuclear bomb for the last 20 years! Yet no evidence of any bomb.

What made him suddenly need to bomb Iran to thwart their nuclear ambitions, I wonder?

Could it be that world opinion was turning against Israel because of their inhumane actions in Gaza? Mm?

Claremont best you do not go anywhere near a Mess Hall or even an Officers Mess, as the gallows/black humour you would encounter is positively offensive, hilarious and blood chilling.

It is one of the ways our brave armed forces get through difficult times.

This is not a Mess Hall, but a Forum with adult, mature women (and a few men).

Quite similar to Junior Drs Mess- I was quite shocked at first.
And you are right, I would have been the worst Officer's wife, and am so grateful my DH, despite very difficult circumstances, did not accept funding by the Armed Forces and straight into Officer's rank when finishing studies.

We can agree and disagree about this war, but jubilatory comments are, in my opinion, totally inappropriate.

Yes Claremont, but Netanyahu said they were soooooo close to a nuclear bomb, even though Tulsi Gabard, who actually did the most recent inspections, said not. Just who should Trump have believed?

I am not calling the armed forces hideous.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 24-Jun-25 15:54:30

lafergirl not hideous, just the way brave men and women get through dangerous situations.

I hope you will not call them or their ways hideous when they are called on to protect you, your family and country.

Sounds hideous.

Thanks for your feedback GG13

The potential threat from Iran has been removed. The children in Gaza are still suffering. Perhaps time to turn back to that?

Was the post deleted because of a response Oreo's 'smiley face' emoti?

In all of this 'joy' and relief now that Iran has been 'defeated', let's have some joy and relief for the CHILDREN of Gaza, none of whom have done any harm to Israel?
Let's at least let them have the safety to reach the aid donated by decent people in the world.

It is possible to think of two things, the plight of Gaza and the potential threat of Iran as a nuclear power.

Claremont I don't use smiley faces for serious issues. Why do you think I do?

Anniebach Tue 24-Jun-25 15:25:31

Iran is a dictatorship so can we really believe what they claim are numbers killed since 13th June ?

Boz Tue 24-Jun-25 15:19:52

I cannot believe anyone but an ardent fan of the regime would repeatedly profess support for a rogue state that is like a many headed viper, poisoning politics in the middle-east; financing terrorism (probably active in this Country as well). To cap all this, the treatment of women - which in my book is enough to damn it comprehensively.
Israel is standing up to this monster and has my support.

Out of curiosity don’t any posters feel pleased that Iran, considered by so many governments as a pariah state is for now nowhere near acquiring nuclear weapons?
It would never have happened with talks as they were hiding what they had deep underground.
They were rushing towards becoming nuclear as their proxy groups, hamas, hezbollah amongst others have been more or less neutralised by Israel so nobody much left to do their dirty work.

What do we actually know? What was destroyed? Why did POTUS appoint himself to drop bombs after "no more wars" whilst campaigning for office?

LizzieDrip Tue 24-Jun-25 15:03:47

Oreo I’m afraid I consider the use of a smiley face emoji in your post of 13.23 inappropriate.

This is about one country bombing another. You do realise that people in Iran have been killed don’t you?

Iran's health ministry says around 500 people have been killed by Israeli strikes on Iran since Israel's 13 June attack on the country, although one human rights group has put the death toll at 950

No I don't want Iran to have a bomb as I fear what they will do but I think this attack by the US has only put them back by a few years or even less.

It is possible to agree or disagree- however, using happy/smiley emoticon, about the fact that two countries have bombed another, is just totally inappropriate I feel strongly. Especially as we still have no idea what the consequences will be, for those countries, those people, and the world.

LizzieDrip Tue 24-Jun-25 14:25:53

Meanwhile … Palestinians in Gaza are still dying and being starved by Israel.

Although, apparently not actually starved to death because Israel has calculated how many daily calories a human requires to just stay alive and, based on the numbers in Gaza, that’s how much aid they’re allowing in … so just starved to the brink of death then!

I don’t want my country to ally with a regime that treats desperate people with such inhumanity.

I tend to let nasty posts stand so everyone can see what that poster has typed but of course it's a personal issue to each of us .

Depends.

If a particular poster keeps getting targeted by the same poster[no idea if true in this case], then nothing can be done unless GN knows.
Sometimes it is not at all obvious to anyone else, what is really happening.
