Rounding up people while dressed like a paramilitary soldier with no checks and balances is the sort of thing I associate with theocracies and dictatorships. We have the rule of law. Do you disapprove of that if Trump doesn't like it? Is this a hill you really want to die on?

I don’t agree that executive order is marginally better than theocracy. I see theocracy as the main reason for the wars in the Middle East. It’s just fantasy to say that the USA won’t hold an election after Trump’s term.

He's crossed a lot of norms and lines. That'd be just one more. He obviously has contempt for the democratic process. We'll see won't we. I just wonder how bad he has to be before right wing people see the problem.

It's marginally better but it's not a great thing for democracy. Especially paining your political opponents as traitors and emboldening far right gangs to run amok. I worry that there will not be an election again after Trump is put out to pasture and Peter Theils boy Vance is in charge.

That’s not all entirely true. The funds returned to Iran were those that had been frozen. The funds belonged to Iran and were returned in exchange for an agreement made by Obama regarding control of nuclear development. The agreement worked until Trump tore it up. You’re welcome to believe Trump’s lies.

I'm a dual Citizen of the US and UK. Born and raised in the US. Moved to the UK in 2009, so I feel I can confidently speak on this subject. Though, I really think it's stretching things a bit far to think that you must be resident of a country to have an opinion on it. If that were true, well...it would not just be trump's America, it would be trump's world. I prefer the UK. That helps give us a good balance.

IOMGran I am not embarrassed to be a Republican. I am not embarrassed to be an American. I am not embarrassed that I voted for President Trump, again. Does he embarrass me when he speaks? Quite often, yes. But I am NOT embarrassed by the way he is running our country. If you feel comfortable with the idea of Iran having nuclear weapons then good luck to you.

In fact some of us have been quite critical of Biden - but he's out of office now, so we're debating Trump.

Trump is despicable for lots of reasons. Apart from the politics - he lies... and he mocks people's disabilities and dead soldiers (even more despicable because he himself has never served his country in the military). That's apart from the pussy-grabbing - a trait which irons him out as a misogynist.
