I think it's so he can toss it into the crowd at rallies etc. He must have a huge box full somewhere.

He thinks that wearing a suit is a sign of respect. Wearing a daft hat is a sign that he has a side hustle. I hope that they are not made in China.

I’m still largely avoiding the news. However, catching a glimpse of him wearing that stupid hat yesterday, but not knowing when it had been and in what context, my first thought was I hope that he’s not wearing it whilst talking about dropping bombs on Iran .
