If you feed people pap it tends to be easily digested.

How pompous you sound

Oh I dunno? Fair point. Pap with a side order of racism.

The GB presenters do express their opinions and some rather forcefully which I found very difficult at first a d I still don't care for one if the presenters. They do get on guests from across the political spectrum though and I do like the lively debates. Plus Michael Portillo of course!

So does that Naga Munchetty, she’s quite opinionated. Take for example, the drama that KS wanted to show around the schools, would insist on calling it a documentary, which it certainly wasn’t, it was a drama. I thought she was rude talking over KB, everytime Kemi said drama, she would announce, ‘documentary’ ha

*escaped*, but what do French women think?

😆
Well, as I'm in France, I'll just go with des centaines de milliers de français - masculine form - because in French that's how it works for both, no need to distinguish!

Menopauselbitch Thu 26-Jun-25 16:15:56

Well said.

I rest my case😁

You have been building a case against me? That is very weird.

I'm watching a news opinion channel here in France which is probably very similar to GB News. It's called CNews. It's very helpful for building up my conversational -getting points- across style when discussing the world with my friends here. I think it's right wing, but it has outshone the traditional channels here in its popularity.
There must be something in the air about these channels, because hundreds of thousands of French men can't be wrong too.

Another two apologies from BBC last week for false news

Admitting error is good. Not admitting error is bad.

Is it actually a news channel?

No. It's the UK equivalent of Fox in the UK. Just a right wing propaganda outlet with dubious Russian ties and shady backers. the public vote is in line with the rise of our own MAGA movement, Reform. Sad.

Kandinsky Thu 26-Jun-25 14:07:06

The only news channel to speak the truth ( in my opinion ). - well done 👏

icanhandthemback Thu 26-Jun-25 14:02:54

I watched/listened to GB News for a few weeks just to see if it was worth it. Whilst I applaud them for taking on subjects other news channels won't, I hated the way they talked about people so I stopped watching them. They wouldn't have got an award if it was up to me.

I also went to see their version of "Have I got News for You" being made. It was just awful. The jokes weren't funny, the whole thing was forced and it certainly wasn't a slick production at all. I was really disappointed.

Is it actually a news channel?

No! It's propaganda for Farage et al. I'm not suprised they won a "Tric(k)" award. They are always up to them.

Come out from behind The Guardian and actually watch several GB programmes. After you watch quite a lot you can then pronounce its not for you.
It isn’t Farage propaganda nor do they play any ‘tricks’.

You old fashioned thing, you!

I don't read the Guardian unless someone sends me an interesting link and I have watched GB News.

Your last sentence is your bias; my post is mine. I will never lean towards extremists, left or right. I don't want to watch their dumbed-down so called news which breaks many of the rules others have to obey. However, if you do no one is going to stop you.

Oreo Thu 26-Jun-25 13:21:42

I think it’s easy to sneer at something you believe to be too lowbrow for you, but y’know it really isn’t and the breadth of subjects on GB is surprising and the debates lively.I like some presenters more than others and like to put it on at different times to find something that interests me.
