Trump wants corruption charges to be dropped for Netanyahu saying it is a witch hunt.
Trump has used witch hunt to deny his own alleged charges.
Opposition in Israel think this may be a strategy by Trump to force Netanyahu to do a deal to get the hostages back and end hostilities in Gaza.
It feels wrong that Netanyahu gets away with corruption but does the end justify the means?

That could also be why it has been reported that the 'Hostage' families are going above Netanyahu's head with their discussions.

Unfortunately, Israel broke the last ceasefire deal. Perhaps Netanyahu has promised the President that this won't happen again.

Yes Mini, but he so deperately wants that Nobel Peace Prize. He can't force Putin into peace in Ukraine, but if he manages to stop the genocide in Gaza?

Mini2020 Fri 04-Jul-25 14:24:20

Trump likes to think he rules the world. As he is a compulsive liar, who can tell if he wants peace, he just likes air time!

Everyone now !

Maremia Fri 04-Jul-25 14:06:30

If everyone is talking, and not just Netanyahu, then there could be hope.

Anniebach Fri 04-Jul-25 12:43:14

Who are the other Palestinian groups ?

AGAA4 Fri 04-Jul-25 12:21:26

Hamas are speaking to other Palestinians groups before agreeing to a ceasefire. They will agree to returning the hostages but demand unrestricted aid into Gaza and phased withdrawal of IDF from Gaza.

BBC News - a Gaza Aid Contractor has told them of shootings
he witnessed, allegedly because he / she was nameless

Smileless2012 Fri 04-Jul-25 11:39:32

It wont make any difference Maremia sad. He doesn't care about the hostages, he only cares about annihilating Gaza.

Maremia Fri 04-Jul-25 11:36:15

At last. The 'hostage' families are going above Netanyahu's head and asking for the ceasefire to happen. BBC News just now.

All that stuff !

ronib Tue 01-Jul-25 14:34:59

Hindsight and all that stuff Anniebach.
However there’s no excuse now for ever underestimating their enemies if that is any kind of comfort. Iran must never be allowed to develop a nuclear arsenal.

Maybe they had been lulled into a false security? Yes given such a truly horrendous history - who else lost 6 million people - perhaps they had mistakenly thought the world had come to atone for past atrocities….*Anniebach

Jews lulled into false security!

Yes Anniebach Israel wasn’t able to envisage a brutal attack…. It was giving Hamas the benefit of the doubt? It will never ever trust Hamas again.

Jews couldn’t envisage a brutal attack given their history of the
program, the Holocaust , the attack in the Munich Olympics
1972

ronib Tue 01-Jul-25 13:23:07

Well if your mindset couldn’t cope with the worst case scenario, maybe yes. Smileless2012

Smileless2012 Tue 01-Jul-25 13:20:36

Is ignoring intelligence about increased activity on the boarder giving Hamas the benefit of the doubt?

I do not believe the allegations, how many Israelis would have been involved ?

They couldn’t imagine Hamas being brutal ? Rubbish , they know terrorists are invading their country , their home for Jews
but didn’t think it would be a brutal attack

Smileless2012 Tue 01-Jul-25 12:24:07

If allegations spoken of here are true many Israelis were involved in covering up the Hamas plans to attack Israel could well be Annie but unless at some point there's an in depth enquiry we'll never know, and more importantly nor will the Israelis who weren't involved.

ronib Tue 01-Jul-25 12:21:48

Or talking to a Jewish friend recently about the two state solution (never going to happen), he mentioned that there has been the most incredible loss of trust. So I guess that maybe even the IDF could not have imagined that anything so brutal as the Hamas attack was even remotely on the cards. A lack of imagination??

I do think the Israelis should demand an enquiry into the October attack especially those who are waiting for family members who are still hostages.
Something very wrong went on there.

You believe they chose to remain silent to allow Hamas to carry
out their crimes ?
