Trump Asks Israel to Pardon Netsnyahu

Next move for Mister Trump (he doesn't deserve the title of President): political asylum for Mister Putin.

That's not as far-fetched as it sounds......

I do not believe Netanyahu “allowed” Hamas to attack his people, torture them, kidnap them, kill them.

I don’t like him much and I don’t he’s a good protective leader, but this doesn’t in any way excuse Hamas.

We can care about the needless loss of life on both sides, and not support either Hamas nor the Israeli govt.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand that people can condemn Hamas but simultaneously not think that Netanyahu is blameless? He's a canny political operator, who watches his own back, and I don't trust him. That doesn't mean for one moment that I condone what Hamas have done. Just because one "side" is wrong doesn't automatically make the other "side" right or blameless. (sigh)

Like many, I have come to the conclusion that Netanyahu does not care one bit for the hostages.

Presumably Trump thinks that Netanyahu is deliberately prolonging the war to avoid legal proceedings. I guess the idea is that he would make more of an effort to get the hostages back and maybe come to some kind of truce if there were no reason to continue with the war.

It sounds like pie in the sky to me. Destroying Gaza seems hard-wired into Netanyahu's psyche and, if he were prepared to compromise, some of his hard-line supporters most definitely wouldn't agree to a truce until Gaza is destroyed.

Not only that, but Netanyahu needs to stand trial for what he's allegedly done (unlike Trump).

I, too, don't quite see how dropping the charges will make any difference. Unless, of course, Netanyahu is saying that e won't stop destroying Gaza and killing Palestinians until they are dropped.

And I still don't understand how one of the very best intelligence services in the world managed to miss the blatantly obvious signs that Hamas were planning something very big on the border with Israel.

He wants the Nobel Peace Prize to = Obama. Hopefully the awarding committee won't be fooled.

Think I read a day or so ago that the Irish Government was declaring the events in Gaza to be a genocide? If so, then guilt for that goes straight to the top.

I agree Oreo, almost anything would be worth it to get those poor hostages back, the hostages the world seems to either forget or disregard. If of course any of them are left live, and if they are, what sort of condition they in, both mentally and physically.

Regardless, I think it would be worth dropping these charges if it helped getting the hostages back, the dead as well as the living and paved the way to an end of the conflict.
