Mind you, there will be plenty of upset people who rely on WFA & disability payments- she will know how it feels- so not much sympathy from me.

I hope they don't make too much of a fuss about it or Badenoch will be round to sneer at them and kick them in the teeth.

Just imagine speaking to someone in a staff meeting like that - someone you could clearly see was already distressed.

Absolutely! I couldn’t believe the unkind drivel Badenoch spouted afterwards. I am not a violent person but I wanted to smack her smug face. How anyone could be so unkind and unfeeling to someone who is obviously upset is a mystery.
I wonder if it will affect her popularity (I’m assuming someone somewhere likes her). Hope it does!

I am no fan of Rachel Reeves but Kemi Badenoch behaved very badly. It was not a good look.

Kicking someone when they are clearly in distress is not the same as political point scoring.

Badenoch is one of the worst performers in parliament in a long time.

I agree did Badinoch did herself no favors. I can remember 3 women politicians shedding a tear. Thatcher, May and now Reeves. The first two I feel sure were activated by a sense of failure and betrayal by colleagues. I suspect it is similar with Reeves. All women who put their heart and soul into politics against the odds. It doesn’t make one feel less of them.

I agree with Crosstitchfan Ms Badenoch's behaviour was not in th best traditions of the house and in plain language yes she was a 'total b***).
I have been in a position in a very important meeting where I was totally overwhelmed its a horrible place to be. I'm glad to see Rachel back on form today and I hope her issue is resolved.

Reeves is back at work today and presenting well. We are told it was a personal matter. Most of us will have been overwhelmed at some point. Let’s hope she gets support and is able to continue her very tough job

I’m no economist but the news at lunch time was reporting the markets picked up when it was confirmed she will remain in post

I have no idea why Rachel Reeves was so upset in the commons. Whether it was personal issues or work related is not my business.
But I was disgusted that kemi badenoch used her distress to score political points.

I was disgusted with Badenoch too. She was a total bi*ch to Rachel Reeves and definitely gloated at the poor woman’s distress. I felt very sorry for Ms Reeves (even though I have no definite opinion of her either way) but Badenoch’s behaviour must be dealt with. She should be disciplined for sure. Nasty piece of work.

It’s just bad manners to make personal remarks! That’s what I’ve always been taught and that is what I’ve bought my children and Grandchildren to do as well.

Congratulations to Ms Reeves for coming to The House to do her job.
