And my goodness mocking is the last thing on my mind, but dark humour is normal is such appalling situations.

Normal for you doesn’t mean normal for others

I have no respect for the present Israeli government for sure but that doesn't include all Israelis.

Bulldozing graves shows a total lack of humanity and respect.

There's been no respect shown to the Gazan people by Israel. They are treated as inferior.

None shown by many people towards Israelis come to that.
Especially to the poor hostages both living and murdered.

silverlining48 Sun 13-Jul-25 11:56:48

The previously agreed hostage releases went ahead and no reason to assume the last woukd not have done too, but Israel reneged on its agreement and began its attacks again, so we will never know what might have happened,

The hostages would never have been home months ago. They’re the only cards hamas has left and whatever happened would only have been released about two at a time.
Frankly I’m amazed that Israel has managed to get as many back alive as they have done.
There will soon come a time when hamas have no alternative but to either hand them over or flee and leave them where they are. They may kill them of course if they’re not already dead.

I and many others have said we want those poor people returned to their families. The anguish must be insufferable.
I do have the capacity to care about many people and am also concerned for the people of Gaza.
Why is this a difficult concept for some posters?

annie you completely misunderstand my post😮😮

The bulldozers are flattening the ground of mass graves in order to conceal where the Israelis have buried hundreds of Palestinians after genocide.

The Palestinians are desperately trying to find their loved ones, but the Israelis are making it as difficult as possible for them.

^It isn’t even reasonable for the Palestinians in Gaza.Aid charities cannot keep law and order and clans would seize power and the weak go to the wall. It’s not just a matter of tents or aid, it would be a recipe for disaster.
Yes, I would hope that eventually Gazans would be able to create, with help, their own towns again but there will definitely be some loss of land as a wider exclusion zone will be made between Gaza and Israel.
Quite frankly at this time it’s impossible to guess what will happen and will depend on various factors^

Some contradictions in this post Oreo.

“It’s impossible to guess what will happen”

yet you apparently know that

“Clans would seize power and the weak would go to the wall … it would be a recipe for disaster”.

At least you have hope that the people of Gaza will return to their homeland and rebuild their communities.

LizzieDrip I have no more knowledge than you on what the plan will eventually pan out as but it’s self evident, Gaza being the sort of community and culture it is, that when the policing force ( hamas) has entirely gone then others will fill the void. Without any armed forces then armed clans would take over everything.

Anniebach, your faithfulness to your cause is great, However I find WWM's
"Quote Whitewavemark2 Sun 13-Jul-25 01:58:48
Footage of the IDF bulldozing mass graves. Are they even afraid the dead might rise up against the genocide?"

is a valid and true comment. Why else would the IDF bulldoze mass graves other than to hide evidence of their atrocity?

silverlining48 Sun 13-Jul-25 11:40:50

How often does it have to be repeated that Israeli hostages would and should have been home months ago if Israel had kept to ceasefire agreements broken on more than one occasion.
The last time was March and hostages coukd have been home 4 months ago. Their lives are at risk as are the Palestinians but Netanyahu doesn’t appear to care. No wonder the families are so angry .
In the past few weeks alone hundreds more Palestinians have died, most of whom were queuing for food. Israel should have no involvement in this, given their propensity for shooting desperate people in a queue.

If Israel has nothing to hide they would allow international independent journalists and observers in, but they have , so they won’t.

Let’s also clarify that Hamas is not bombing Israel. If they havnt already been killed they will have already left.

can't comment on WWM's post as it isn't quoted.
Do Grans here really not understand how it feels to need the body of a loved one brought home for burial.

If one poster had spoken of the brutality of the following,
not one, so they may understand but don’t give a damn , why?

Hamas and moral rights ? mmmm
Anniebach , there have been atrocities committed by Hamas which you and others feel deeply about . Have you any feelings about what should be done now -from 13 JULY 2025 onwards into the future?

I care deeply for all who suffer pain and loss. What should be done now ? should, can, will ? Palestinians and Jews live in peace but I despair Caleo after reading Whitewave post mocking digging for bodies, no understanding that families in
Israel want their dead hostages brought home to have a burial

Please don't despair Anniebach.

Do you agree that Palestine should be internationally and immediately recognised as a nation state ?

What of good can possibly happen! Palestine is a tragedy.

The recent initiative of some Labour MPs to declare Palestine a nation state would at least put the whole international tragedy on a rational footing.

I quote:

"In the vote to recognise Palestine 192 Labour MP’s voted in favour of recognising Palestinian statehood. The remaining 63 Labour MPs were either absent/abstained/chose not to vote. There were no Labour MPs amongst the 12 No votes. The parliamentary motion was proposed by Labour backbencher, Grahame Morris. Labour leader, Ed Miliband, voted in favour of recognising Palestine. As with all parties individual MP’s and candidates view the Palestinian Israeli conflict in varying ways: some support a boycott of Israeli settlement goods, while others do not believe it is right to recognise Palestine as of yet. The question of whether a Labour government would recognise Palestine immediately still remains open."

"Quite frankly at this time it’s impossible to guess what will happen and will depend on various factors."

I think this is what people are alluding to and that's exactly why a diplomatic solution has to be found that engages not only the Palestinians and Israelis but also those countries who will be needed to start to rebuild Gaza and support whatever governmental structure that will be needed to bring some stability back into Gaza. Netanyahu seems to have a plan for war but not for peace, or if he does, he is trying to hide it from the world. Israeli settlers killed an American citizen yesterday in the West Bank. It will be illuminating to see what Trump's response is to that.

Maremia Sun 13-Jul-25 10:23:49

Let's go back to Oreo's suggestion of the 'dividing wall' between the two communities, when all settles down.
Why should such a wall and safe zone impinge on Gazean land? Do the folk in Gaza want such a wall?
If the Israelis feel that such a wall is required, for their ongoing safety and security, then the land needed for such an essential to them should come from their land?
Isn't that a fairer version of the solution?

AGAA4 Sun 13-Jul-25 10:14:51

The Israeli plan is clear to me as they have said they want all Palestinians out of Gaza or that they want cleanse Gaza of all Palestinians. Ethnic cleansing.
Their ultimate plan seems to be to have Gaza for Israeli people only.
It is happening bit by bit already.

What happens with the remains of hamas will be the deciding factor for all future plans.

Definitely and Hamas has become heroic for the majority

No that is absolutely not what the Israeli government is saying.

That may be your opinion, but it doesn’t accord to the announcements by the government. So your opinion is wrong.
