because tragically it is not over.

Thank you Claremont. I would have responded earlier, but I am just in. Will come back again later.

Thank you Claremont.

Oh no, don't thank me. Nothing would make me happier than the subject to be over.

LizzieDrip Fri 04-Jul-25 21:09:29

Yes, I know what you mean - me too.

But we appreciate you starting thread number 3, as the subject must not be forgotten.

The BBC online has an article giving a summary of what all sides are saying/demanding. It's near the top of the page.
Still to have a look at The Guardian.

In The Guardian tv review online this morning, about 'Gaza: Doctors under attack',

'This is the sort of television that will never leave you. It will provoke an international reaction and for extremely good cause...we owe it to the subjects to not look away.'

So we are moving now to a prison camp for every Palestinian.

It is to be built near or on the ruins Rafah.

It is to be called “humanitarian city” insane and cruel.

The extreme members of the Israeli government are one of the most radical and far out that we have experienced for many years.

This simply enforces and ticks the box of genocide.

Maremia Wed 09-Jul-25 11:40:06

What is also concerning is the inference that experienced Politians like Tony Blair are making positive noises about the 'project'.
They should really call it what it will be, a prison.

Absolutely.

I wonder what message will be above the gates?

Humanitarian City is a total misnomer, as there will be nothing humanitarian about it as they can never leave.

Who will feed them, house and educate them?

What an appalling situation.

They call them prisons or detention centres in most other countries.

Concentration camps in others.

growstuff Wed 09-Jul-25 12:01:08

I know where the idea to call them "humane" came from.

Over 2 million being moved there to be killed ?

Over 2 million being moved there to be killed ?

Ask Ben Gvir or Smotrich.

Their answer will be in the affirmative.

Anniebach Wed 09-Jul-25 12:18:55

Silly reply or have you asked ?

Over 2 million being moved there to be killed ?

Who said anything about killing them?

Haven’t you read or listened to them?!! They regularly call for complete extermination if all Palestinians.

If not how, on earth can you truly understand where Netanyahu is coming from?

growstuff Wed 09-Jul-25 12:24:22

Anniebach I'm sure you'd love to live the rest of your life in extremely cramped conditions with another two million people, with no possibility of leaving and your food and all other resources controlled by people who hate you.

A prison, detention centre, ghetto or concentration camp. The name doesn't really matter does it because it doesn't take much imagination to know that it's anything but a 'Humanitarian City' angry.

On 29 April 2024 Smotrich said, "There are no half measures ... Rafah, Deir al-Balah, Nuseirat – total annihiliation. 'Thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.' There is no place for them under heaven." The Israeli newspaper Haaretz described his comments as a call to genocide.
Smotrich may well get his wish for total annihiliation when this humanitarian city near Rafah is full of sitting ducks. All the better to wipe them out. Unless, of course, his call for total annihiliation can be interpreted in a positive way.

As Hamas Palestinians want to carry out on all Jews

Forced into this camp; patrolled by armed Israeli guards; unable to leave i.e. imprisoned for being Palestinian.

Surely this has reached a new low in the inhumanity of the current situation.

Possibly all part of Trump’s Gaza Riviera plan?
