Thank you for the suggestion Allira. I've always thought "Chat" was about over-the-fence exchanges of opinion.

The link discusses stats and politics. The information on savings to the NHS are an example. Sure Start achieved so much. It's certainly worth listening to if you can so I'll leave it and let people decide for themselves.

They re-nationalised the railways , I saw. O headlines
Starmer ordered an audit, Casey reported and a national inquiry was ordered
No support for their decisions on WFA or Benefits/pip from the DMail. Today DM publishing figures that confirm the govt was right in saying changes needed

The other thread about the new Best Start centres is on Chat though, so maybe a different audience.

I wonder why this excellent new initiative isn’t headline news in the media🤔

Yes, it is a duplicate thread.
Perhaps you'd like to put your link on that one, PoliticsNerd, it might be of interest.

Sure Start did not disappear, it was just cut back. But this is a good initiative.

I welcome this initiative. A lot of harm was done when Sure Start centres were closed. I worked in an area where parenting left a lot to be desired and the centre was so important in protecting children.

One of the most popular and successful of the last Labour governments reforms were the Sure Start Centres. Funding was stripped away by the Conservatives, but Labour are bringing them back. They made children, healthier, fitter and better prepared for school and work. Labour need to shout this news from the rooftops on a regular basis. (Phil Moorhouse)
