It’s up and running today. The name of the new party hasn’t been announced yet.

This just now in the Telegraph:

“The former Labour leader and his fellow now-independent MP said it was “time for a new kind of political party” in a statement today.

The pair have invited voters to sign up to the Left-wing faction via the website yourparty.uk, although The Telegraph understands the new project will not be called Your Party and that its name is to be confirmed.

It comes after Mr Corbyn told activists that the new movement would be established in time to fight Labour nationwide at the local elections in May next year.

In a joint statement, Mr Corbyn and Ms Sultana said: “It’s time for a new political party. One that belongs to you. The system is rigged.”

Well well.
It will split the Labour vote for sure. Starmer won’t be happy.

I don’t know Oreo, but I’ve heard of it as a brainstorming app for creatives, it’s on my iPad.

Whatever they decide to call the new party, a load of Labour voters will defect to them - giving each of them 10% of the vote and holing both of them below the waterline I suspect.

Starmer will not be amused.

On the contrary, he personally will be pleased I think, he would rather they were outside than inside, with the noise and distraction they create, it’s been coming for a long time.

I never thought of it like that Casdon.

I think The Fruit & Nut Party moniker will stick. It’s what the bookies were calling it 2 days ago.

Jezbollah is another runner.

Oreo

Casdon

I thought maybe FreeForm would be a good name for the party, it would be descriptive of the role it would have, and confusing and irritating if we had Reform and FreeForm, which would be fun.

😂
Isn’t it a Tena Lady product tho?🤭

I think they're called Bodyform 😁

I’m with Casdon in concluding Starmer won’t be sorry to see this group leave the LP.

Same!

If they don’t like what their own party is doing, they will now have somewhere to go instead of just agitating.

I’m sure KS won’t miss them!

I wonder how many of them will suddenly decide they quite like being in the party of government🤔

JenniferEccles Fri 25-Jul-25 09:55:40

You’ve got to hand it to Corbyn, haven’t you?
The old goat just never knows when to give up, despite repeated rejections of his loopy leftist policies, here he is again, raring to go!

Whoever said politics is boring?
It will be such fun to see who jumps ship.
Starmer?!!

JenniferEccles Fri 25-Jul-25 09:57:54

I love some of the names for the party already suggested!

Allira Fri 25-Jul-25 10:20:37

The Left Overs?

Boz Fri 25-Jul-25 11:35:01

Corbyn has always been a pain in the bum for the LP; he lives to disrupt. The fact that he is not a natural leader of men is obvious.
However, in view of the rising popularity of Reform, perhaps balance is needed and people should be given a left-wing alternative

I see this as JC's last throw at having a party he fashions. He's not a young man and he has served over 40 years as an MP - no mean feat. He has nothing to lose. He will always have a following. That said, I'm not so sure about the future careers of younger members of this new party. I am sure some MPs will join the new party. More interesting will be which Trade Unions follow. They put a lot of money into Labour and have influence because of the number of MPs returned. Are they willing to risk that for a party that may get 3-4 MPs?

Moii Fri 25-Jul-25 13:46:40

Unfortunately I think you could be right.

spabbygirl Fri 25-Jul-25 13:52:05

Oreo

The Fruit And Nut Party it’s being called.😄

that's brilliant!!!!

I hope it fizzles out, I'd like to see Labour a bit more left wing but its a difficult thing to balance

Jeannied Fri 25-Jul-25 14:15:05

Explain this mythical far right! I've only met people who have been right so far.

Jeannied Fri 25-Jul-25 14:16:02

More left than these marksists?

Susieq62 Fri 25-Jul-25 14:17:41

Please get your facts right Zarah is not from Bradford but Birmingham!
I live in Bradford and know my local MPs and she is not one of them!
Whilst I admire her determination I feel that she and Jeremy are fighting a lost cause but if they can keep Farage and co away then good on them !!

Jeannied Fri 25-Jul-25 14:17:54

They wont hold a candle to the new Advance UK party who are patriotic.

Earthmother9 Fri 25-Jul-25 14:23:34

Islam is art of our country now, so why not.

knspol Fri 25-Jul-25 14:43:49

Can it get any worse???

Casdon Fri 25-Jul-25 15:26:51

knspol

Can it get any worse???

Of course, it could get much, much worse, we could have Reform in government, Heaven help us all.

Neilspurgeon0 Fri 25-Jul-25 15:28:00

Like Bliar and Cameron and Osborne and Boris / all poxy posh boys

Susieq62 Fri 25-Jul-25 15:44:57

Jeannied are you saying that Advance UK is an acceptable political party ?

Emeraldforest Fri 25-Jul-25 16:03:17

Well mock all you like, he will do quite well.
He's a genuine politician who cares about people.

There must be so many people bitterly disappointed in Kier Starmer, just as we were in Tony Blair.
I voted Labour to fix broken Britain, to collect taxes to pay for the NHS and public services and to move away from the US, the unacceptable face of capitalism.
The first thing he did was cut support to the old and toss thousands of children deeper into poverty. His only aim is to beat Nigel Farage.
I’d join almost any party with socialist ideals.
